Paradigm Shift A2 Bookshelf Speaker (Gunmetal Gray Gloss)

Totally awesome sound package. I have two of these and there's no going back. Great Sound and great utility, I have whole house audio via Airfoil/Airplay on a MacMini media server. The power pass-thru on the back of these units makes it a breeze hooking them up to an airPort express for rock solid airplay connectivity. Highly addictive sound, I really thought I loved my libratone loop, it's just that I love this more. Much more. Buy one today, you wont regret it.!2 years later. I still love those things. Has become the reference sound in my whole house audio setup. I've hid these speakers behind cloth in furniture. One thing lead to another though and nothing gets better than the source, so I've had to rethink how I get the music through the system for an over-all quality uplift. CD with uncompressed sound is still #1, so "background noise" comes from spotify, stuff I really like comes from CD.The only down side I've found with these speakers is that they perhaps aren't the best choice for classical music. Still using wired earphones for that.

These speakers have a high quality review, they look fabulous and sound excellent too. However, there seems to be a notorious hiss sound that comes from the speakers . I've followed up with Paradigm headquarters and they indicated there was a release of these products that had a quality defect many years ago so they were recalled. They indicated the problem was fixed and old products should not be out in the market or supply chain. Unfortunately my recent purchase and difficulty with these speakers prove that the old equipment is still out there. Using a tape measure, I can still hear this hiss from the tweeters 10 feet away (speakers totally isolated from any input or output connections ) . The hiss is very apparent with the volume turned up or down on the speakers . There are many threads on the AVS and other Audio forums on the internet that talk about this problem and the response from Paradigm. It is too bad these speakers with defects are still in circulation. Many have said they had returned 3 and 4 sets of speakers until they found a set that did not have the defect. I'll be returning these speakers. Also, Paradigm indicated to me they do sell via Amazon directly but other audio dealers in my area indicated that paradigm makes very good quality products and that they did not ever have online sales. I am not sure what is going on.

Great for powered surrounds, especially if you only need one to four speakers, you can add as you go, and though this sounds backhanded, they are not distinctive. Don't push too much in the bass, and they'll blend in with your main array. Be aware that the power cord prevents them from being backed against a wall, so the depth as well as the height will be eleven inches.

Powerful speakers! I bought 2 as they do not come in a pair, to hook up to my vinyl player. I haven't had them turned up all the way, and you likely won't need to either. I was worried about the hum because they're powered speakers, and I suppose if I lean in while no music is playing I can hear it, but nothing you should concern yourself with. I would definitely buy them again.

Just purchased one today. Wanted to play it stand alone before I run it with A Gramavox. Plugged it into an Oppo Sonica DAC, Playing " Love, Fear, And The Time Machine" by RIVERSIDE on TIDAL with an LG LV30 using Blue tooth. I already know I Am Going To Enjoy This Sonic Journey.

I purchased a pair of these not realizing that there is no way to control the volume of both speakers simultaneously without an amplifier/preamp. Nevertheless, these speakers are amazing.

the speakers come in very attractive package and sound phenomenal. at this price range, i doubt you could find anything that is of higher quality. the bass is deep whilst preserving the the high and mid tones. be warned, after trying these, you'll never go back to sub par speakers.

I already have a pair of these speakers, and I liked them so much I wanted a third one. Seeing an attractive price on Amazon, I ordered one. When it arrived, I found that an important feature was missing. Usually there is a 120v AC power socket on the back panel, directly below the volume knob. This is really handy, for plugging in the power adapter for a bluetooth receiver. On the unit from Amazon, it is missing. There was no indication of this in the product listing. In fact, in the photo of the back of the speaker on Amazon, the power socket is there. So, the Amazon product page is pretty misleading. Stranger still, the quick-start guide included with the speaker shows the power socket, even though it is not present on the speaker. Check out the photos I uploaded, and you will see what I mean.So to sum up: These are great performing speakers, but it looks like Amazon is selling a version that has had a useful feature trimmed away. So for this reason, I am returning it.

Sound quality is amazing. Very defined sound. Only issue for me is it keeps going to sleep mode when idle for a bit.I have it hooked up to my echo dot and if you ask alexa something, there is no audio while it wakes up.Second request its on. Love the sound so despite this, going to keep it.
