Great value for price!
The TOMLOV DM9 7” Digital Microscope is an outstanding tool that combines ease of use with excellent image quality, making it perfect for coin collectors, hobbyists, and anyone working on small electronics. The large 7-inch LCD screen displays crisp, detailed images in 1080P with a 12MP camera, and the 1200X zoom allows you to see fine details that are impossible to catch with the naked eye. Focusing is smooth and precise, and the included 32GB SD card makes capturing photos and videos effortless. I appreciate that it can connect to a PC for larger viewing, but the built-in screen is more than enough for most tasks. The sturdy stand keeps the microscope stable, and it’s been especially useful for soldering work where a steady view is crucial. Overall, this microscope is powerful, versatile, and a great value for the price—I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable digital microscope.

As a sports card grader, this TOMLOV microscope has become one of the most important tools on my desk. The large screen makes it easy to inspect corners, edges, surface scratches, print lines, and centering details before submitting cards to PSA or TAG. The image quality is clear, the adjustable stand is sturdy, and the built-in lighting helps reveal flaws that are difficult to see with the naked eye. Setup was straightforward, and it has saved me money by helping avoid submitting cards that wouldn’t gem. Whether you’re grading sports cards, Pokémon, coins, or other collectibles, this microscope provides excellent value for the price.

Pretty decent for beginners, though overpriced
It isn't bad overall. It has a pretty good picture and is very easy to set up and use out of the box. I can not say whether or not it can actually zoom to 1200x, but certainly not in its current design. More on that later. I got this for coin hunting. This scope does well for beginners like myself. However, there are many things I would change. Magnification: Pros - it has a wide range and great picture. Zoom is two tiered and simple to use. It is very easy to zoom in and out in small increments Cons - The riser is short and does not allow a wide field of view when all the way up. It makes it difficult to capture an entire coin on screen. When zoomed in all the way, the lens protector is in the way of further magnification or subject manipulation. I would replace the riser with a taller piece. A shorter lens protector would allow more zoom as well. I used basswood to raise everything 5 inches and it gave me a lot more versatility when needed. Lighting: Pros - The lighting is very bright, perhaps too bright. The additional lights can be helpful. Cons - A backlight or some other indirect lighting would give less glare and more natural illumination. The flexible conduit is a little difficult to position, and could be a few inches longer for positioning. They are very bright when it comes to additional lighting, and opaque lenses would be very helpful. I added masking tape to soften and spread the light which reduced glare a lot for better pictures. Additional: The aluminum plate is nice, but it is too reflective for the lighting. A black foam rubber mat like the one I added would be a big help. Connectivity and controls: The remote is simple and easy to use. A longer cord would be great, cordless would be even better. Touchscreens are extremely inexpensive, and would help make this a better buy. The main buttons on the display might be better on the top. I connected the microscope directly to my laptop and was given the choice of mass storage access, charging, or PC camera. However, I have not yet found a way to switch between the three without unplugging the USB cable - which turns off the microscope. On the plus side, with the Windows camera app taking the pictures I can quickly move the pictures to where I need them without messing with the SD card. This microscope isn't a bad option, especially for a first unit in hobbies. It performs well and is easy to use. But there are several inexpensive ways this could be improved to make it worth the purchase price.

Great digital microscope. Exceeded expectations.
I purchased this digital microscope for my university lectures where I am simultaneously teaching students in class and via Zoom. The USB function is a real plus. I was able to plug this in, and during a Zoom meeting, switch from my webcam to the microscope with no problem. This allowed students in class to watch what I was doing on the projection screen while students at home could watch on their computer screens, all with excellent resolution. The ability to take pictures or video with the microscope at the click of a button is a real added bonus. The microscope is very impressive for the price. It is relatively small and easy to pack and carry in the original box. I can set it up or take it down in about 2 minutes. The additional side lighting helps to produce shadows or provide illumination to your very tiny subject matter. Yesterday, I was teaching about the "placoid scales" of sharks. These scales are more like teeth than fish scales. Although you can readily feel them on shark skin, you cannot see them with the naked eye. This microscope showed them in far better detail than I had hoped. The 7" screen is like a very large cell phone or a small tablet. This is plenty big enough for soldering circuits, grading coins, etc. If you want it big, you can always project it onto a 100" screen (which is what I do in class). The digital functions of the microscope (lighting levels, exposure compensation, timer, camera functions, etc.) can be controlled with buttons on the screen or the wired remote. The rechargeable 18650 rechargeable battery is fairly common. While you can plug your microscope into a USB block to charge, I actually have a dozen of these batteries and external charger for my SCUBA lights. The battery lasts for about 3 hours and (if the battery ever dies) you can pick up a few extras on Amazon for relatively little money. Bottom line, although this may not be laboratory grade equipment, it does produce similar results and at a fraction of the cost. It does feel a bit like a toy, but it's hard to argue with the results. I'm far more impressed with this unit than I hoped. Time will tell how durable it is, but for now, I'm super happy I purchased the TOMLOV. Pictures included are of shark skin scales and close ups of a $1 bill. The last photo is the closest/most magnification I could get and still be able to focus. These are photos directly from the microscope.

Seriously Capable Digital Microscope — Great Detail for the Price
I picked up the TOMLOV DM9 7" Digital Microscope to mess around with coins, small parts, and other tiny stuff — and it’s actually way better than I expected for the price. Right out of the box it feels solid and well-built. The 7" screen is big enough that you’re not squinting at a tiny viewfinder, and the 1080P video/12MP photo output gives real detail. At higher magnifications (up to 1200X), you can clearly see fine textures and edges — for coins, circuit boards, tiny components, whatever you’re inspecting. Focus adjustment is smooth, and lighting on the base/head is bright and even. You get enough illumination without hot spots, which makes a big difference when you’re trying to see fine detail. The arm and stand are stable too — no wobble that ruins the shot when you’re zoomed in tight. Setup was simple, plug-and-play. The menu is intuitive, and capturing photos or video is easy. I also appreciate that you can connect it to a computer if you want larger screen viewing or recording sessions. Look, this isn’t a lab-grade microscope, and if you’re expecting optical glass like a $2,000 unit, adjust those expectations. But for what it is — a versatile, capable digital microscope you can actually use without frustration — it’s a heck of a value. Great for coin collecting, hobbies, electronics inspection, or just nerding out on the tiny stuff.

Good magnification but needs a lot of (not included) customization, screen is dim.
First pros. It does have good magnification. After customization parts, I can see the little hairs on the petals of my miniature orchid flowers. It’s nice that the spotlights on the base run off the battery of the screen so you don’t have to use two separate cables. The remote is nice because you can set up a photo/video and then use the remote to activate the shutter rather than vibrating the camera by having to press a button on the screen. It comes with a glare adapter you can install to help when you’re working with something that needs that. Now cons. First, the biggest problem is that the screen itself has no brightness control AND is very dim. Yes, you can turn up the lights on the lens to brighten up the subject you’re viewing, but that only solves some of the problem. Turn the light up too high and you wash out what you’re looking at while still NOT seeing it well on the dim screen. So, if you’re using it anywhere with regular household ambient light, the screen is very hard to see. It’s so dim, you really have to use it in an area with very little natural light and/or with your ambient lights turned down or off. Super inconvenient. Second, it comes with a USB charging cable and yet the manual says, over and over again, to use a full-function DC charger, which (no shocker here) you have to buy separately. If it's that important, it should have been included with the original kit. Third, if you are going to work with anything that’s more than about 2 inches thick, you’re going to need to buy the (not included) extension rod to get the lens farther away from the base in order to bring the thicker viewed object into focus. I wanted to use it to look at my tiny orchid flowers which are mounted on slabs of bark. When laid flat, the whole plant (with slab) is maybe 3 inches thick. I could not get the lens far enough away to see the flowers. Once I’d bought the extension rod, it was ok but not great. With the added rod, the whole apparatus becomes extremely top heavy. You have to incredibly careful not to bump it or your table lest the whole thing fall over and shatter. Fourth, it takes a micro-SD card. Unless your computer comes with a port for that, you’re going to need an adapter (which is not included but at least with that I can understand why). In the end, it fulfills its core objective; it has great magnification. However, the screen is dim, the DC charger should’ve been included, you’ll need an extension rod if you’re going to do anything remotely three-dimensional, you practically have to use it in the dark and you’ll have to visit the office supply store if you want to get anything off the micro-SD. In the end, once I’d bought all the added stuff, it wasn’t a half bad video microscope. Not remotely professional grade, but decent for a hobbyist. However, what that means is, out of the box, it’s really disappointing. If you buy it, just be prepared for a lot of customization if you’re going to be doing anything other than numismatic/philatelic activities or very flat electronics manipulation/soldering.

Good microscope
Although it is not clear in title or description, this is actually Tomlov DM9 model. The first one I got I had to return as it wasn't charging, but the replacement was promptly sent. I really liked to product. It does everything as advertised. One thing i was confused was about SD Card. Images say it comes in built but product details said otherwise. Nevertheless i actually got an SD card so happy too USB to PC camera works like a charm These are imported pieces so you need to charge for 3 hours as it is idle from long time It was mainly bought for my dad to help in his soldering but the plate was bit small I thought. Overall 5/5. Really liked it

Good, bright results, easy to use
Fairly decent results for the price, useful for electronic repairs etc. gives a fair magnification and decent image quality. I think if you're serious about using this for electronic PCB repairs then consider the version with an adjustable arm which would be easier to move without the metal base plate getting in the way as on this model.
