SHIMANO FC-M612 40/30/22T 10-Speed Deore Crankset

Used this as a direct replacement for the 3 piece crank set the came on my Long Haul Trucker. I now have about 500 miles on it and it has been wonderful. My bike is less than a year old and we were constantly having to deal with crank set and front derailleur problems. Finally just gave up and trashed the originals and installed this crank set and matching derailleur, wish I had used these from the start. We have since put the 170mm crank arm version on my wife's Disc Trucker. Cannot for the life of me understand why Surly is not using these as the originals. You will not be disappointed, it is well worth the money.

I had it installed on a specialized rockhopper 29er, for the past month, Ive acquired it since the XCR suntour crankset was mal functioning (i guess this model had this failure), it's smooth even though I still have 8 gears on the back and use a KMC chain. Im looking forward to have the same confidence with shimano products.

very nice crank at a reasonable price. it is stiff and efficient, and shifts nicely. I changed out my 2 by 10 crank to this one and I like the greater range of gears it offers. can climb just about any hill and get a better top end gear as well.
