As a Vine Reviewer it takes a lot for me to review items I have to actually pay for, but this one was worth it. I tried the slotted ones and a bow knife and those work. but none offer the consistency so far as this one. I was very skeptical about it being a non-name brand and have never owned the name brand to compare that one, but this one has been great so far. I liked that this one had a bread slicer catcher/guide to keep it form running into my hand and was cheaper. The only two things I don't love - first the suction is great, too great. It doesnt move at all, but when its time to put away you feel like you're about to break it or hurt yourself. I've learned to only stick two of the 4 suctions to my counter top but I wish there was like a knob to lock and unlock it to the counter. Second, and this is the greatest missed opportunity....some sort of markings to be able to repeat cuts. Like if there were 5 lines almost like a toaster, you could know that you like your sandwich bread at a level 2 and your french toast level 4 or something like that. Without doing anything, you will just have to estimate if you close the gap to store like I do. My work around for this has been to take a permanent sharpie pen and draw my own lines. Game changer! One day I might even take the time to create a nice sticker or something, but for now the hand drawn line is working.

I bought this manual bread slicer mainly for my homemade sourdough loaves, and I couldn’t be happier. Sourdough can be a pain to slice evenly, especially with the thick crust and soft interior, but this slicer has completely changed the game.The guide holds the loaf steady, and I finally get uniform slices that don’t look like a toddler cut them. Whether I’m making toast, sandwiches, or freezing a batch, it’s been incredibly helpful. I also love that it’s compact and folds away neatly when I’m not using it.The build quality is solid—no wobble, no slipping—and it cleans up easily. If you’re into baking your own bread (especially the rustic, crusty kind), this is one of those tools that you didn’t realize you needed until you try it. Highly recommend!

After years of trying to cut reasonably uniform slices of my weekly sourdough loaves without much success with bread knives and bow saws, I finally broke down and bought this machine. The first time out of the box it worked amazingly well, effortlessly sawing off perfect, uniform slices of bread set to the thickness that I chose, just like the photo in the ad shows. Apart from a few breadcrumbs to knock off and wipe up when you're done, there is no mess to clean up. It comes with two wrenches for keeping screw and bolt tensions correct on the base and the sliding thickness plate. The circular blade is fastened with a Phillips head screw. Simple and effective.Aiding in its flawless bread slicing are its four suction cups at its base. Their suction power is incredible to the point of being difficult to break free when you’re finished. I slipped a dull butter knife under them to pry them from our countertop. Needless to say, the machine did not move an iota during operation.The machine’s design and functioning are excellent, and its overall build quality is good and sufficient to its purpose. The wood and paint are attractively finished. A word of caution: the last slice of bread gets your guiding hand very close to the sharp blade. I’m going to use a cut-proof kitchen glove from now on.My wife took a short video of me making a perfect slice the first time, but for some reason it would not upload. Too bad!

I purchased this for my sourdough loaves. I love how it cuts and how easy it is to adjust the size of the slices.My only wish is that the suction cups would stay on my counter better. I use them more as a clamp to the counter than actual suction cups.

Ok hands down one of our favorite purchases. We only eat handmade bread, primarily sourdough boules. I bought the popular sourdough bow knife but found it clumsy to use and store. This little machine is amazing. My granddaughter can cut her own bread, I can slice an entire loaf in minutes, just a great item. I do need to research replacement blades because I assume this one will get dull eventually.

We buy homemade sourdough from a lady here in town. This works ok at about an inch thick, but less than that and it just balls up. didn't work for us.

Awesome cut quality on this, it cuts very easily just about any thickness you want. Very fast. My one grip would be that I hate suction cups in general, so I just took them off and put some rubber grip pads beneath it and that works fine. I’m not gonna knock off any stars for that issue, though, it’s just a matter of personal preference. I would say this is a great value, well-made, should last as a long time.
