Great for my Tundra & 4Runner...
Helped me diagnose P0420 DTC. Culprit was downstream O2 sensor; replaced it. No more annoying P0420! Great investment; DIY, no need to ask help from auto parts store. Note: after clearing codes you need to run a drive cycle before passing SMOG-if applicable. Google for help… "AA1 CAR Understanding Onboard Diagnostics OBDII"

NON Intuitive and pitiful instructions.
Sent it back. Try to find detailed instructions to use all its capabilities. Good Luck. Zero videos as well.

Easy to use. Works well.
I don't know a huge amount about cars, but I've had several times when I've wished I could look up different codes.I got this to be able to do that and to see if I could find the reason my car isn't starting smoothly. It has an ignition test which showed that my battery was dropping all the way down to like 7 volts when starting. It's easy to use even for someone like me who doesn't know what I'm doing, and shows a bunch of interesting information like RPM, speed, etc.I don't have any error codes currently to test clearing them, but I was able to check for any codes easily. Overall I'm pleased and I think it's going to do everything I wanted it to do.

Great for reading codes and real-time engine monitoring.
Well it plugs in and read the information on a 2002 Buick, 2014 Ford and a 2015 Mercedes. As it says, all cars since 1996 have the OBD port, some like the Mercedes seemed to go to great effort to hid it but it is there. There are no batteries to deal with. It gets power from the car it is plugged into, no batteries or AC power plug required. The screen is in color and fairly bright, I was able to read it in daylight. It is not a touch screen, navigation is done via the four way buttons and then OK to select the option. The directions are barely enough to get going and don’t step you through how all the screens work. What every wants is the ability to read the codes if the check engine light comes on. Unfortunately for me my Mercedes started running rough the day after I got this and I was able to plug it in and get the code and an English description of what it means. See picture. There is a menu option to unscramble codes into plainer English. There is also the option to leave it plugged in while the car is running to check for real time issues. You can see the RPM and coolant temp and a bunch of other parameters in a trend graph. What data it shows seems to be at the car manufacturers discretion, not consistent between makes. It allows you to check each O2 sensor and each cylinder for ignition issues while it’s running. The battery/alternator check function is especially useful. It steps you through a test process and tells you if the battery is OK and if the alternator is charging.I accidentally dropped it onto concrete and no issues. It a very rugged tool for about $40. I was going dinged it a star because the instructions seemed too sparse but reconsidered.

Very nice self tester and must have for any car owner
This tester will allow for basic testing of your vehicle to determine if you just have a weak battery or if the engine is actually acting up and needs service. Great value for the money. Good quality product. Simple to use. I had a weak battery and wanted to verify it before replacing it was quick to accurate information that ended up saving me money versus going to a mechanic thinking my starter had gone bad. A must have for any car owner. Easy code reading with accuracy.

Seems very similar to handhelds Ive seen at auto-parts store, having said that I will need to test it first then update!!!
