They are very sorry about what happened and are sending me a replacement. They will be working on improving the design so this doesn't happen again. Back up to 5 star! UPDATE - Less than one week after giving thi a 5 star review, I have had to downgrade it to a 3. This morning on the beach with my 6 month old German Shepherd, he was pulling hard to try and chase birds. In a split second my husband was left with a leash attached to a broken harness and no dog! One of the harness straps completely broke and my dog instantly escaped the harness like Houdini! I'm very disappointed, as I really believed this harness was sturdy, but if my German Shepherd can break it at only 6 months old, we have a problem. PREVIOUS REVIEW - LESS THAN ONE WEEK PRIOR.... I originally bought the medium size when my German Shepherd puppy was 3 months old, but after less than 2 months he outgrew it and I had to buy the large size. He is now 6 Β½ months old and 65 pounds and has been wearing the large size for almost 2 months and there is still room for him to grow. I love this harness. Not only does it look cute, but it is very sturdy and fits nicely. My puppy is a very strong puller, so hooking the leash to the back hook isn’t that great. Attaching the leash to the front hook does slow him down and stop him from pulling, but with him it is still a little awkward. I found a great way to use it which makes me feel more secure, more in control and less fearful of one of the hooks breaking off – that is, I loop the leash a couple of times through the back handle and then hook it to the front hook. That method is a tad clumsy and it’s not for times when you want to quickly unleash him, but it works great for longer walks and I feel more in control with him.
