Fits out of the box, with little break in
Well made work boot. Surprised with the laces, they were thinner and had more stretch than anticipated so changed them out (nothing wrong, just not used to the feel). The boots were comfortable out of the box, I did put a coating of mink oil paste on them. Brake in has been minimal and they have been on my feet for 9 hrs a day every day. The black soles are flexible but stout, walk across anything and you don't feel any localised pressure. Early days but so far very impressed. Good job the Thorogood company, keep up the excellent craft.

Look great. Favorite boots!
I have had these boots in the past with white bottoms, love the look of the black soles on this pair. Little stiff fresh out of the box but looking forward to getting them broke in. These are my favorite out of any of the moc toes I’ve looked at.

Black wedge sole
Sturdy and comfy out of the box. Needed a new pair and wanted the non steel to to start a rotation. The black sole and dark brown leather looks good and I’d only ever work on a wedge sole

Great Boots
Really great boots. Mine broke in very nicely in only a few days. Leather quality and craftsmanship is top notch. Very comfortable and definitely built to last. Worth every penny

Disappointed
Disappointed in these boots as I’ve had Thorogoods in the past and they were great. My foot was flopping around in the left boot it fit so big and the right boot was tight enough that I had to chain out of them at lunch time. According to the tags both were size 11.5, a size I’ve been wearing for 40 years. Maybe I got a bad pair. Sent them back

Not your dads work boots
I want to love these boots. The color is exactly what I was expecting the size was f the boots however has changed over the years. These are not the same quality as they were in 2008 when I started in the trades. Thorogood has fallen in quality and their latest line of work wear was ridiculous. I started out wearing 12 wide and they just don’t fit anymore. Thorogood wide is almost every other boot manufacturers normal width. Last but not least I am an operator and I climb up and down a 3 rung ladder to get in and out of the equipment. The soles on these boots wear quickly in the center causing the sole to nearly break in half. I could see this being a problem for anyone who regularly uses a ladder.
