Amazon Basics Retractable Ballpoint Pens with Comfortable Grip for Smooth Writing, Black, Note-Taking, Office and School Supplies, 12-Pack

I love these pens! They write so smoothly and there are so many beautiful colors. They are reasonably priced, comfortable to use and just glide on paper. Great purchase! My granddaughter loves using them when she stays over.

I normally wouldnt review a basic product like a simple pen, but I'm gonna take a minute to do so for these. I am very picky with my pens, I need certain ones for my handwriting to be clean and legible, and these Amazon Basics pens are that. They are smoothe, have perfect sized ball/tip for my liking, the ink is smoothe and doesnt seem to smear easily, and they are just simply tough. They also allow me to write very small and still be legible, which is key for the inspection reports I fill out constantly. For the price, getting 12 pens for $12 ($1/each) is a great price for these. Not sure what else I can say, but out of all the pens I buy to try out and find a decent writing utensils, these are by far the best for the price. If you lose one, or someone walks off with it, your only out $1. The clips also seem tough, I have others break easily and I need the clip so my pen is always on my shirt for quick access as I won't pit it in my pocket where it will break. These are excellent pens, I recommend them 100% so if you need a reliable pen that writes great for a low price, here they are.

Honestly, these pens are way better than I expected for the price. The colors are nice and actually useful (not just random shades you’ll never use), and they make organizing notes or lists a lot easier. They write really smoothly—no skipping or scratching—and the ink comes out consistently. I’ve been using them daily and haven’t had any issues with them drying out or leaking. They’re also comfortable to hold, even if you’re writing for a while. Nothing fancy, but they just work, which is exactly what I wanted. Overall, just a good, reliable set of pens. If you need something simple for school, work, or home, these are a safe pick.

Pros: • Comfortable Grip: The rubberized grip makes writing comfortable during long study or note-taking sessions without causing finger fatigue. • Smooth Ink Flow: The black ink glies smoothly onto paper without skipping, smudging, or blotching. • Convenient Retractable Design: Click-to-retract mechanism means no lost caps or ink stains in bags and pockets. • Great Value: Getting a 12-pack at this price point makes it an affordable option for stocking up home, school, or office supplies. Cons: • Basic Aesthetic: Clean and functional design, though fairly plain. • Ink Drying Time: Standard drying time, but left-handed writers might experience slight smudging if writing very quickly. Bottom Line: If you need a reliable, budget-friendly set of pens for daily note-taking, journaling, or office work, the Amazon Basics Retractable Ballpoint Pens are a fantastic choice. They offer a smooth writing experience and comfortable grip without breaking the bank.

Write nice. Feel good in my hand.

I will admit - I was skeptical. As a certified pen snob - I have my “Princess Picks for Perfect Pens” but those are all quite pricey. Low on funds, I decided to try these Amazon Basics Pens - despite many just bizarre negative reviews. You folks who claim these broke on you - what exactly are you doing with these pens- driving them under your SUV? I clicked the retracting mechanism 100x and it did not break. I wrote with it for over an hour taking notes on a Zoom and it did not run out of ink halfway down the page. I question the people writing such peculiar negative reviews. These pens perform just as well as my favorite brand and they are so affordable at a fraction of the cost. No bleed-thru on the pages and it has dark, smooth, high quality blue ink - critical for legal work. I love that these do not have the rubber gripper affecting nearly every pen in existence now because those hurt my hands and attract lint. Gross. Whereas these Amazon Basics Pens are smooth, easy to hold and have excellent longevity with none of them breaking inexplicably - as reported by other customers. Absolutely I recommend these pens and will definitely buy them again. So glad I took the chance on the fantastic budget price for the quantity because they are great household pens and good for work too! Great product, Amazon!

When these work, they're great, a standard little blue ballpoint pen with nice smooth lines and ink. However, I took two of these to a hospitalized friend, only to be told later that they didn't work. When I tested them, the clicker mechanism was gummy and slow, like someone had poured syrup inside. When I opened up the barrel, the ink had completely leaked out of the pen and was pooling around the tip mechanism. This happened with two pens, which is very bizarre behavior. It's possible since this friend was laying in bed and trying to write at an unusual angle that the ink somehow leaked out, but most ink barrels have a stopper to prevent this sort of thing from happening. Regardless, I'm disappointed in the fact that two of them were wrecked. Otherwise I was about to buy more packs of these pens because I like having them around the house so much.

Comfortable and I enjoy writing with it.

Very good pens

Schöne Farben. Schreiben gut. Schon das 2. mal bestellt. Preis Leistung top.

Great pens, feels nice in your hand. Ink flows nicely. Normally im not a fan of standard ballpoint pens, prefer the more expensive sharpie pens, but these are just as good. Good quality for the price.
