Bought these as a replacement for the rear struts in my 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i, and I am pleased with the purchase. The installation was pretty straightforward, though you will have to prop up the hatch or have assistance with holding it up, I found I had to have the hatch opened to the max in order to get them screwed in. I’d recommend installing the upper joint first, since I started with the bottom and the strut slipped out of my hand when trying to screw the top in, and it fell and chipped my taillight. Though I had some trouble with installation, it’s no fault of the struts themselves. With these new struts, I hardly have to open the hatch for it to lift itself up all the way. There is no worry about the hatch falling down, as they feel very sturdy while holding it up. Closing is a bit difficult, requiring some force to get the door fully shut, but I suspect with some more use it will become more manageable. I’d definitely recommend these as a budget alternative to the oem struts, just be ready for a potential tricky installation and requiring some force to close the hatch.

The description was a little misleading. It said it would fit and not fit a Porsche 996. I took a chance and these are a perfect fit for my 2004 911. It took only a few minutes to install with a flathead screwdriver and seem very high quality for a fraction of OEM cost. Would definitely purchase again if needed for a different vehicle.

Easy install. Major upgrade from failed factory hatch struts on my 2006 Nissan Xterra. Excited for the winter when the old ones didn’t work. My life is generally better now that I have the new hatch struts installed. Highly recommend this product.

Bought these to replace a different set of Chinese made replacement hatch struts that did not last a year before completely failing. These ones fit well, immediately work better, and appear of better quality than the others I had, but only time will tell how well they hold up. For $20 during Prime Days I won't hold my breath, but I'm hoping they surprise me. Also, they included a set of 4 NUTS instead of the 4 BOLTS that are needed for installation. Luckily my original bolts are still in good shape.
