He has been through a lot -- he was in PR before, during, and after Hurricane Maria, got on a rescue jet and flew to New Jersey and finally ended up in Ohio where we met him and added him to our home when he was only six months. Now he is three and everybody LOVES Diego. He is small and we try to control his weight. He LOVES to eat and has a deep focus on food. Our vet suggested giving him a one-half cup of puffed rice cereal mixed in with his kibble so he doesn't gain weight. He has to keep his manly figure! This satisfies his hunger while not adding weight and bulk to his physique. And...he loves it! He gets so excited when I get out the bag of puffed rice. Also it is certified Kosher. Arrowhead Mills has been around forever, starting in Texas in 1960. They know what they are doing! This is also a nice way to start YOUR day....a hot cup of coffee, some toast with strawberry jam, and a bowl of ARROWHEAD MILLS puffed rice. Just ask Diego -- this stuff is good!

My husband said these taste like stale rice crispies, but I LOVE them for why I bought them. My son is 6 months old and his doctor said to start him on pick up foods so he can start working on those motor skills. The Go-To food for this are the "puffs" made by all the popular baby food companies, but ALL of them (even the organic heath nut ones) have added sugar. I'm trying to avoid my son having any added sugar until it's unavoidable because I don't want him to be a picky eater. Anyway, long story shot, I found a blog that suggested these, and when I saw that the ONLY ingredient was brown rice, I decided to give them a try. Almost $7 is a ridiculous price to pay for cereal, and if it was for me, I would pass. But to split up into little baggies for my infant, these will definitely stretch far! As for the taste, I think they taste fine, and so does my 6 month old. I've also read that you can coat them in yogurt, nut butter, fruit puree, etc. to give them a bit more flavor. But for right now, my son enjoys attempting to get these little suckers into his mouth (we sprinkle them on his high chair during meal times).

As someone who is sensitive to chemicals in foods, I was very upset when Malt O Meal who mass produced Puffed Wheat stopped. The only other product available to me was Quaker, but that had BHT preservatives in it which set off allergic reactions. Being desperated I tried Arrowhead Mills product and was so grateful it is just puffed wheat without anything else. For people who have eaten enough puffed cereals, they will know that some taste burnt and some are light puffed. This comes from a process where one company explodes the grain in puffing by heating the grain which toasts it and another more modern method which uses steam pressure. It is either the heat or steam pressure which when released which causes the grain to "puff". Arrowhead Mills is the toasted type and it is very good. It also unlike the steam pressure or the old Malt O Meal type not as perfected in that it is a bit more crunchy like the original puffed wheat of a century ago. For those with allergies, I believe the toasting makes the product less inflamatory to the body in "killing" the oils, germ and hull which affect many people. The bags are small, but surprisingly one can get around 7 bowls of cereal out of them. The puffed wheat is though like all puffed wheat in softening readily in milk, but as stated the packages I have the puffed wheat has a bit more texture like original puffed wheat. I was quite pleased with this product and hope to have it stocked locally. It was good enough for me to even consider purchasing puffed millet in the future. Love the cereal but its very pricey. i tried it but wont buy it again

I wanted something for breakfast that wasn't a sugary grain cereal. I couldn't find the puffed millet in local grocery stores so ordered it from Amazon. It's good tasting and easy to digest. I'll eat it for a month then decide whether to order from Amazon again.
