David E. Talbert's Love On Layaway is a wildly inventive, laugh-out-loud journey inside the lives of three couples living in a Philadelphia neighborhood. First, there's Ms. Willanetta (Cassi Davis), who after a life-changing religious experience, no longer wants to have relations with her suitor of twelve years, Renzo (Buddy Lewis). Next, there's Epiphany (Joi Campbell), a single mother who has yet to decide who will be the man in her life, her new boyfriend Reggie (Chico Bennymon) or her six-year-old son, Man Man. Finally, there's Monique Graham (Deborah Cox), who feels as if her relationship with live-in boyfriend Anthony (Mel Jackson) is on layaway and he's making the absolute lowest monthly payments. Review: Really awesome play. - Love Deborah Cox, Buddy Lewis from Martin, and other plays, Love Mikel Shannon fine self from Charmed the old series and Chico Benymon from half and half and other movies and play and really love David and wife Lyn. They have excellent movies and plays. Review: I love this play! - BE played this movie all day one Sunday and I really got into it. I loved it! When I got my copy, I was a little disappointed because it was a bad copy. I am going to make another purchase of it brand new on the economy next time. I consider my black artist films a treat and do order them regularly. The plot of the play was well done and the actor's are well driven and do a wonderful job making the play really come alive. You draw tears from it if you are a person who has ever experienced love in a peculiar way. I loved it. You would miss out if you thought twice to make this purchase. It was worth buying the DVD brand new. I love to watch it on Sunday's when I can relax and get the message again. The singing is pretty pretty nice toooo. Bring on the popcorn.

The very talented Deborah Cox does what she does best. The actors did what they do best. I loved the script and the screen play. They showed all generations of African americans version of love, and the types. All address and all just great. Not one character bored me or disappointed me. Good stuff, love it!

OUTSTANDING!
Great play true life story lines, that are happening all over the world today,I like that they recognize the differnt age groups having problem with commitment. As the old saying goes "You Don't Miss The Water Until The Well Goes Dry" and also another one "Why Buy The Cow When You Can Get The Milk For Free"

It was fun to watch, and interesting.
Some things were good and why did she need him to say it when he constantly showed it. And besides, getting married won't keep a man from walking away or straying. I enjoyed watching it. It was interesting and funny at times. A bunch of cliche happening, but an overall good message.

So Funny!!
Excellent job Deborah Cox! I truly enjoyed this play. Ella, who is one of my favorite people in Tyler Perry plays was of course very funny! I love the meaning of the play, What I enjoyed most about the play is that this is real life, and I know some real people that need to see it!!!
