If it was good enough for Jimmy Page . . . it was good enough for me!
I bought one of these back in 1971 for $39 I recalled seeing a picture of Jimmy Page using this model. (In later years I saw a picture of him using a dual antenna model as well.) Being I played a lot of Led Zeppelin songs, I used this and plugged it into an Echoplex (which by the way I later read that was exactly what Jimmy Page did) and it sounded just like the sounds on the Led Zeppelin LPs. This is a basic Theremin which uses only one antenna that controlled the pitch according to the proximity to the antenna. The unit was powered by a 9VDC battery and had an on/off switch. The adjust knob if I recall correctly varied either the pitch range or volume. (Forgive me on this detail since it was many years ago) In 1971 it was built of thin metal and cheap plastic and wasn't very sturdy. But if you love Led Zeppelin then this definitely has the retro-cool factor going for it and this model still has the same cheesy art work on the front of it too! (Rather than stopping playing my guitar to wave my hand by the antenna, I would wave the end of my guitar near it. Since I was touching the strings, the tuners worked like it was my hand!)
