Instructions could be better
The product arrived with contents as described. It also contained pH test strips and pH up and pH down chemicals which I didn't remember seeing in the description. It was easy to assemble and get working. I was able to add my seeds and get started right away. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that the enclosed sheet directs you to their web site for the instructions on how to use it. There was no instruction DVD. The instructions on the web site are more tailored to their other products. For the nutrients, the instructions said to add one packet, but the nutrients in my kit didn't come in "packets". It was all loose in a zip lock bag. I couldn't figure out how much to add. I ended up going to another web site for dry nutrients of a similar rating to get in the ball park, .What I discovered after a lot of research was: - Seed starting, no nutrients - Seedlings, with beginner leaves, 1 teaspoon (quarter strength) - Plants, 4 teaspoonsSince I started from seeds, I only used the Grow formula so far. I haven't had a need for the Bloom formula and haven't determined how much to add of that yet. The instruction sticker says to add 1 packet, but it isn't in packets, it is loose in a zip lock bag.The company should assume that most people buying this product are beginners and provide better instructions to help them get started. Other than that, I think it is a good product to introduce people to hydroponics.

A staunch and heady review.
I received this item as a birthday present, and I must say, though there are some negatives, they are far and few between, and not as negative as you may think. First, when I received this, it didn't have all the bloom and grow mixtures, but that was possibly due to some clerical error. I spoke with one of the operators through e-mail and the reason given was that they shipped my item as a lower level sale, that normally didn't get those things, and in a few days, it was sent out and received. I received my unit, and though it was a bit smaller than I expected,( isn't everything bigger on tv??) it seemed just right for the job. During the summer, I clone my grape bushes so I can get more for myself, and pass out to some friends who want them, or to sell to others. I also have plenty of fresh veggies in the winter. This is not my first hydroponics unit by any means, but this appealed to me because of it's smaller size. After opening up the box, i noted everything inside, and proceeded to set up. It was extremely easy to do, and in no time, I had the air-pump hissing along, and after allowing 24 hours for the water to oxygenate, my first cuttings went in. Now, I don't usually use root-cubes, as I prefer peat pellets, but, the perlite rock was easily cleaned off, rinsed, and put in over the cuttings in the cubes to hold them down, so I said, by-your-leave, and let them in the basket to do their job, and on I went. I took a quick holiday, and was absolutely astounded when I came back. Within four days, 4, i had roots coming out of the bottom of the basket and within five more, two were ready for transplant and two new cuttings ready to go. Thats less than 10 days from cutting to planting. Those powders helped, as well as my own plant-food cocktail that I have mastered over the years. So, with regards to ease of setting up, A+ all around. Now, for those few, and mind you also, MINOR, issues I had, which were quickly dispelled, fixed, or just don't plain old make a difference, unless you are truly anal about it.First, when you are installing the spigot in front of the unit for water-changing and draining, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF TEFLON TAPE on the threads, or THIS WILL leak a little bit. Not a lot, A LITTLE BIT, as long as it is tightened fully. I lost a very minimal amount of water over just a few days, and it was, as I said, easily remedied by a generous amount of Teflon-plumbers tape. Since then, zero problems. The second thing, was just something I didn't like, personally, so sue me, I would have done it differently. Where the tube for the air hose goes, I would have made that IN THE LID of the unit, instead of the side, partly because of minor leakage if you go over the opening at all. I know the line might kink up if you do it this way, BUT, you could submerge the buckets in a bit more water if it were done that way. Third, and honestly least of all; when you fill the unit up with water, the pressure of the water deforms the side of the container where the spigot is, just a little bit, it bulges more on that side. Whether this EVER becomes a problem for me, i will advise in the future, but it's almost negligible. Other than that, I am setting up my indoor vegetable garden for use as the days begin to wind on down, and hopefully, green peppers and tomatoes will be on my winter table this year. To the guys at Stealth Hydro, A hearty CHEERS, MATE !!!!, to you all. I would absolutely advise all novice hydro growers to give this a shot, and try your hand at this if you love greenery all year long, both in garden foods, and flowers on your sill, as well as helping favored plants through the lean winter days. Once again, thanks and keep on.

Don't bother.
My wife purchased this for me which was nice, she found it in my shopping cart and thought I wanted it, I wanted something similar but not this exactly. I tried to return it but the seller wouldn't respond, that is a huge disappointment and will keep me from ever dealing with them again.Having not used the product here is my review. As someone else pointed out the nutes don't come in individual packets they come in a ziplock sandwich bag with a generic paper label from cheap home printer stuck in it.The tub is very thin and I'm sure would need to be modified to stop light from entering and causing algae growth, likewise the short section of air hose is clear and preferably would be black for the same reason. The air stone I received was not a 4 inch disk, but was a more conventional air stone although nice and large. In summary, it's a little overpriced but generally kits like this are, and the nutes aren't packaged as advertised. Seller didn't respond even to say they wouldn't accept a return. I think you'd be better off building your own, which is what I ended up doing after looking at this setup.

So far, so good
It certainly came on time, though I'm the most impatient person in the world, so it felt like forever. I haven't yet planted anything yet, I'm still trying to figure out my lighting situation, but everything was in there, generally speaking. The 5' tube they say is in there isn't 5' at all. It's closer to 2 ft, to be honest with you, but for my needs, that's fine, just means I need to keep the air pump closer to the container. The container isn't very big but seeing as I'm very novice to growing plants, I didn't need a very large medium anyway. But if everything I've heard about hydroponics turns out to be true, I will definitely consider investing in a larger one. But overall, the quality of the parts was great, just as advertised. As people have said on here before, the kit really is just a collection of stuff you can buy locally, but you pay for the convenience of not having to figure it out on your own. But I think the bigger you want your system to be, the more practical it is to simply buy your own parts, once you know what you need, that is. I'll update once I figure out what I want to grow and how to grow it.

Cheap
A rubbermaid tub and some plastic bags filled with who knows what that were hand labeled "plant food", etc. Not sure if we will ever use this.
