Typical MRE Meals. Acceptable Taste for Me
There are several different types of meals in the 18-package box, not as wide a variety as in the true 24-item menu of a case of military MREs, but still enough to meet my needs. They come from the Wornick Company, which supplies meal pouches for military MREs.I have tried only the Italian sausage so far. It was tasty with a fair amount of spice. The portion was more than adequate for me. Since I bought these to supplement meals in an emergency, I probably won't get into the others immediately. There were several numbers on the packages so it is hard to tell what the packing date might be. The numbers 0021 and 0092 appear on the package. That could mean they were packaged earlier in 2020. If so, that is good. They should last 5 or more years.I did more than buy just these main meals from the vendor. I also bought other items that would make a full MRE-style meal - sides, beard, peanut butter and cheese spreads, cookies and pound cake for dessert, drink mix. The vendor is out of stock on crackers, but I ordered some from another vendor. I did this because the prices of a 2-case set of MREs, 24 meals, is rather high right now. I wanted to see if I could put together MRE meals a la carte. As it turned out, the price per meal this way is actually slightly higher than the per meal cost in an MRE case. Still, I think it helps me round out my emergency food supply. And I have more control over the menu. Some military MRE meals are better than others.

Can the reviews be trusted?
If your reading the reviews and looking at the stars you will notice that most of them have like 4 or 5 stars and will then have some negative comment. Can you trust the review? Answer is No!Can you trust mine? Yes.So far the items on the box matched. The seller added the index on how to tell how old it is. My MRE is from 2002 and tastes amazing!I have had the beef tips in the tomato sauce 10 out of 10. Add some mashed potatoes to it and some crackers and bam! This morning I tried the pork sausage and the hash browns. 10 out of 10. Added some crackers to absorb the gravy then I added a roll to finish the job. These MRE’s can be boiled if you don’t have the waterless heater or microwaved or whatever heat source you have. Great taste and great value. As long as you don’t have a baby mouth and are willing to accept and understand. That these are not gourmet meals. But will work in a pinch.

MRE
Not like the Army MRE with all the extras. Each packet contains meat and nothing else. It's edible but not what my grandson was looking for.

Easy quick meal on little fire or stove
Paired these up on a little propain stove on a backpacking trip for lunch. 2 packs for a bigger dude (6'-2" 260) was perfect. Mixed and matched and cooked in my mess kit each day.

Very fast shipping. Not the exact items but overall excellent quality.
The items I received are slightly different (refer to my photo of the box). However, the contents inside are pretty accurate representation of the actual MRE entrees. So far I have only tried the Chili Mac (of course I have to dig into the best menu upon unboxing it), but I could already tell they have done a great job of replicating the food. If you want 18 100% accurate MRE entrees only, I suggest buying 18 MREs then burn all the goodies like the cheese spreads and tortillas. But for those who aim for 80-99%, this product is for you. This product do not include the FRHs so I recommend either boil the packs or heat the food directly in a pot.I totally understand why people would deduct stars in their reviews for receiving the wrong menus or no heaters. But for me, this product exceeds my expectations for this price point (what do you expect for $3.6/pack?). I am very likely going to order this again if they restock it (for those wondering, I stock up on these because the place I'm living in is at the brink of a lockdown). I do hope that they include the hash browns next time I order it. Or they should just change the description or pm the buyers to correctly reflect what they are sending so people would not be pissed off anymore.Update to my review : I see many reviews criticised the product for not having expiration date. What the product do have is a four-digit date code printed on every pouch (the first digit is the year of production and the other three is the number of day of that year), just like real MRE entrees. The ones I received are freshly produced from late 2020-2021 so should everyone that purchased after me.
