I can't say enough about this book, 5 stars plus 10
Email Persuasion Is easily the best training I've seen on email marketing. There are courses out there that cost hundreds to thousands of dollars and still don't compare to this powerful book. Before reading Email Persuasion, I struggled with confusion, not know where to start. List building seemed overwhelming to me. I just kept saying to myself that I needed to build a list, but had no idea how to go about it.I continued to put it off and then reached the point where I pretty much gave up on it.Then while doing some research on another topic, Amazon showed Email Persuasion as a book I might also like. For $3.99 I decided to buy it. I was blown away!I am not one to give reviews in general. I think I've done maybe six over the course of 2 years buying books since I got my Kindle. So for me to write about this is a big deal to me. This is what you'll get with this book, from the notes I took while reading it; yeah, I took notes, I never do that:* Building a persona for your ideal customer/client. Ian explains a step by step process that makes getting into the thoughts and motivations of who you're trying to reach a breeze. He has you create a 4 part outline covering the facts, lifestyle, goals and motivations and the internal identity of your ideal customer/client. You'll have them feeling like you really know and understand them, because you actually do.* Maximizing the perceived value your clients will experience, by creating an attractive incentive to address their problems and goals.* Reducing friction, risk and hassle for your subscribers, by making it easier to opt in to your list and assuring them with professionalism and social proof; guaranteeing them that you will never abuse their information they've entrusted to you.* The mechanics of structuring a well-crafted email sequence that assures it will get in to their inbox and be opened, read and acted upon, by deeply engaging your future client.* How to set up an auto-responder program and all of the other technical requirements that go along with running an email campaign.* There's also a huge bonus that I found to be worth at least several hundred dollars, by itself. You get access to Ian's private Email Persuasion FaceBook Group, where you can discuss topics and work out issues you've had relating to email marketing. You also get access to several tutorial videos that go over the topics from the book. Make sure you opt in to Ian's email list. I did and I'm getting emails regularly, giving advice I can't get anywhere else, for my email campaigns.I'm just so glad I decided to act on that impulse offer to take a look at this eBook. You need to pick up a copy and join the private FaceBook group. See you there.Scott

While the world goes gaga with social media, Ian explains why email is still a vital marketing weapon
The level of sophistication of the strategies in this book are cunningly disguised by Ian's easy to read and conversational tone. With plenty of examples, this is a great introductory guide to the hows and whys of email marketing. If you are looking to try email marketing but not sure where to start, this is for you. And if you have campaigns live already you will certainly find ideas to test. One thing - Ian doesn't review technical options, like which email service provider to choose- but these are the details that change week by week and you can sort this out easily when you know what you are trying to achieve. Whereas these email strategies are timeless and, frankly, largely transferable to all sorts of customer service and direct marketing campaigns. Disclosure: I consult to companies on email marketing, and I found this extremely good reading. Correction - I wrote this review in a fit of enthusiasm before I read the last chapter, where Ian does, in fact, do a good review of technology and where to start. So there you go... 5 Stars.

Great read for me with no previous experience of email marketing
Three great things with this book:1. Mr. Brodie starts with discussing the need for a clear strategy with your email marketing and especially the need for a clear focus and goal. A lot of authors do this, but Mr Brodie illustrates this with a straightforward model that makes a lot of sense.2. We all know the importance of establish ourselves as authorities. Mr. Brodie shows how you can do this in the email format.'3. Mr Brodie is generous with crediting other people that are good at email marketing and ad links to other valuable sources. This increases the value of the book even more.

So nice to have a highly informative book without all the "pitchy-ness" that's so prevalent in marketing
I'm an experienced marketing consultant and have read many books over the years. I'm regularly frustrated and annoyed by all the garbage that's out there. Seems like everyone is an expert these days. There are so many so called "experts" that simply regurgitate garbage they read on a bathroom wall (or on their iPad while in the bathroom!). Not so with Ian. His book is refreshingly insightful. Whether you have been around the block a few times or are just getting started in business or marketing, you will get great information from this book. Ian packs years of personal experience and blends it with wisdom from a small group of people that KNOW email marketing. This is a rare book that I read cover to cover and will keep on my book shelf (or my virtual Kindle bookshelf) for continual re-reading and reference. I will also have clients read this so I won't have to spend hours convincing them they need to do email marketing. Ian will do it for me. :) It's a good read. With a review like this I should have an affiliate link or something eh?!! (I don't). Get the book, I think you'll be pleasantly pleased like I was. I'm even redoing my email marketing from some of the insights and ideas!

Email marketing 101
A bit of this and that. Good book to read if you are just getting into email marketing. Very little about persuasion. Easy reading for an hour.

Email Persuasion Rocks! If you are new to email marketing, this is a must read book!
I have to say that I enjoyed this book a great deal. First it was a very easy read, and it was one of those books that you could not put down until it was completed. Even after I was done reading the book, I wanted more. It is very rare that I find a book that allows me to read it all the way through.Ian give a real picture of how to properly do email marketing. There is 0% fluff in the book. Even better, if you by the book he provides an outstanding course on all the principals that are needed in order to have success with email marketing. Thanks Ian, I enjoyed this book, and I am looking for other books that you might be putting out in the future.
