Really pleased on first viewing of this Descendants rucksack, very pretty purple colour with screen-printed Mal and Evie logo, sharp picture, not blurry. Good quality materials and straps. But oh my word, the chemical smell it emits! Can't give it as gift as it is; currently aerating it outside of its packaging near a window, as my 6 year old girl would baulk at it. Quite sad really as I otherwise liked it, but the chemical smell is so overpowering! Will update in a week to see if odour subsides.Also, the delivery agent left the parcel on doorstep, didn't knock (we were home) or leave with neighbour. Lucky it didn't get stolen!Update - smell gone in the air after aerating but if you put nose to fabric, it still has chemical odour. Gutted.

The bag itself is well made, but the horrible chemical smell cannot be safe. Especially for a child! I cannot recommend this product until its changed. Not sure how this product hasn't been withdrawn.

I'm happy with the size and design, but the smell of the plastic was so strong we could smell it when it was still in the box. Had to leave it to air out and it still has a strong smell. Hopefully, it will go over time.

Disappointing as daughter loved bag and design but the smell of it was putrid and so toxic. Kept outside for 3 days but still so strong and contaminated room and clothes. Had to return.

Lovely back pack for price but very plastic smell 2 the extent I've put it out in garage 2 air 2 try get rid of the strong smell

Had to send it back the smell was Awful filled the house with poison

The bag is exactly as pictured, but as others have stated, the smell coming from it is totally ridiculous. The smell is like a combination of white spirit and petrol. I’ve had to leave it to air out in the garage..3 days on and the smell is still going strong.Great bag to look at, but unusable due to odour.
