For samples and storage, get this one.
These tubes are a little over 15mL capacity. They have no measurement marks on them. I filled one with water and it doesn't seem to leak if left upside down or if I squeeze it. It is made of a hard, opaque plastic. It is not as thick as a lab grade centrifuge tube.I use these to store fishing supplies/hooks and for holding little things for backpacking, traveling, and other kits. I think they are great. I got a pack of 100 so I've got enough to share with the rest of the family for sure. They seem sturdy enough. The screw cap has more turns than the typical centrifuge tube and is thinner and more low profile.I included a comparison pic of a 10mL centrifuge tube, this tube, and a 15mL centrifuge tube. I like these better for my purposes of holding and storing things.

Great purchase!
I bought these plastic tubes to make Washer Whiff samples for my Scentsy business and they worked out perfectly! They were all in great condition when they arrived, and I had no problems whatsoever opening or closing them. I wanted to provide a little more than what a normal sample carries and these were just what I needed. I tried attaching labels to them (for product description/directions) but they wouldn't stick without a little extra tape. I would definitely purchase these again, and have recommended them to my other friends in direct sales.

These make great test-tube style humming bird feeders
These make great test-tube style humming bird feeders!Prior to this purchase,I had purchased the 12 pack of red tube feeders here on amazon with the red push on top. I've already broken 2 of those glass feeders because they use such a thin fragile glass and the top is so tight. It's like a light bulb almost in fragility. I paid 16 bucks for a 12 pack of those Songbird Essentials tube feeders. Here I am now, buying 100 pieces of plastic test tube, for 12 bucks. Using a 7/64 drill bit, I managed to make a hole in the middle of the cap, that was similar in size to the Songbird feeder. I'm still thinking of a way to put a little red color around the cap, but in a non-toxic manner. Today I just put a drilled, clear, uncolored test tube filled with nectar out and to my surprise, they had drank quite a bit from the non-colored tube.If you're trying to make a DIY test tube style humming bird feeder for cheap. Get a cheap roll of 16-18 gauge copper hobby wire, and these tubes. The tubes are a polypropylene plastic, so it's safe enough for birds and people alike.

Great for Agar Slants
I received these the other day. Did not count to make sure that there were 100 in the bag but it looked about right. These are polypropylene and I heard that they could be steam sterilized so I loosened the caps on 10 of the tubes and put them in a quart mason jar and popped them in the pressure cooker for 25 min at 15psi. After cooling most of the way I removed the quart jar expecting to see the tubes distorted. However, to my happy surprise they came out perfectly. I then moved them to my sterile box and proceeded to fill them with agar and make slants. My only complaint (and the reason I only gave 4 stars) is that it is easy to cross thread the caps when you put them back on. Otherwise if you are careful they make a perfect seal. I believe that the ease that the caps can go on cross threaded if you are not careful is what caused some to complain that they were not watertight. For the money these are an excellent deal and since they can be sterilized they can be used in serious work. Although Jello shots are pretty serious also. LOL.

Great test tubes for making slants
as another reviewer mentioned, these are perfect for making agar slants. these are the most economical option i have found for making slants, and they hold up great in the autoclave. they are not quite as clear as pyrex or polystyrine, but they are cheap and hold up survive the autoclave or pressure cooker. I have seen them used for shots too, since the screw cap is watertight.if you are using these for culture slants or anything similar, make sure you have parafilm, because there is no gas exchange setting on these caps, they are just regular screw caps. so the way to use them for cultures that need gas exchange is to screw the caps in loosely and wrap them in parafilm, or another breathable laboratory film

good for seed storage
The screw on cap made these ideal for storing seeds, will work well for storing other small items such as seed beads. To help keep seeds dry I cut up a Kleenex into 6 pieces and put about half a tablespoon of dry mild powder. I then gently wrapped the powder up and pushed it into the tube. May need tweezers to get that out later but well worth it to keep seeds dry. I used a rubber-band to keep seed label and sowing instructions fixed to the tube. As for their intended use, I'm no expert but they look like they would work well for that.

though its not a bad product. The tubes are 15 mL
There's a whole lot of inaccuracy going on here, though its not a bad product. The tubes are 15 mL, not 10 mL as specified. However, they are of decent construction. I've had no trouble with anything leaking from them. The cardboard test tube rack shown in the picture and advertised does not fit the tube AT ALL. At best, its made to fit tubes of half the diameter of these.
