Amcrest ProHD Outdoor 3-Megapixel (2304 x 1296P) WiFi Wireless IP Security Bullet Camera - IP67 Weatherproof, 3MP (1080P/1296P), IP3M-943B (Black) (Renewed)

I replaced all my old (4 year old tech) generic 720p WiFi cameras with Amcrests 2k and 1080p cameras. Very weak WiFi compared to old WiFi Cams. All were installed in the same locations as old ones. No upgrades or changes to my 1G network, so it's definitely the Amcrest cameras that have a weak WiFi signal. If restart my router cameras will change IP address on their own even though they are set through Amcrests software to have a static IP address. Also have weaker IR then old cameras. Image quality is not a true 1080p or 2k. There have been zero firmware updates available for either model camera. The only positive thing about these cameras is the wider view angle. I'd look elsewhere if upgrading your WiFi cameras. Really regretting going with Amcrest I'm sorry to say.

While these cameras worked well with the phone app, they do not work well with the desktop computer Amcrest pro software. only two of three cams would show, even though all three showed in the phone app.Attempts to setup in Synology Security station all failed. Even though they are on the supported list.Buggy at best.Though I had no problems with WiFi connection, quality is spot on, night image is great.Hightly recommended if you only use your phone for viewing cameras.

Pros: good quality day and night video. Convenient to be able to view from anywhere. SD memory slot. Ability to access from pc and phone.Cons: sometimes difficult to get initial connection. Alerts will drive you crazy if it's raining at night or you have bugs flying around. Only with night vision however. These are not problems during day light hours.Note: I burnt a power chord due to the connection getting wet. Support has been great in getting a replacement.

Instruction booklet is of no use. You must use a laptop or desktop to set cameras up. This isn’t in instructions, using tablet or phone just puts you in a never ending loop of failure and frustration. I finally was able to get cameras working, using ladder installed outside was working good. I went to bed and at around 3 AM “Lost Camera Connection” warning! The only way to fix this is climb back up ladder and remove cameras and plug directly into Ethernet cable to do a “reset”, reinstall cameras back into software and then climb ladder and reinstall cameras outside. Perfect! Everything working, getting alerts, getting trigger zones dialed in. For next 1 1/2 days no problem. Then early in AM “Lost Camera Connection” when I was sleeping AGAIN!!! WTF is this? I get ladder back out take cameras down, box them up and send them back!Cameras might be good, but software is outdated. The CD that comes with cameras is useless. I had to pay for three months of monitoring to get 2nd Camera to work and it looks like I’m not getting a refund on the unused 2 1/2 months I have left.I’m giving them 1 star because when they worked I received a clear picture day and night.

These cameras and their software are junk. There is no clear documentation on how to setup things like recorded motion, NVR, Ftp, and many other important security features. The cameras are constantly down and offline. When you communicate with Amcrest Support you enter an Alice in Wonderland environment where you never get any usable or effective answers. If you want security this is definitely not the solution. I have purchased and failed with 3 different models of their IP cameras. Use some other brand.

I should've had known better. And to make it clear, I do have 4, count them 4 other Amcrest IP dome cameras. Also, I do know how to use the Amcrest view pro program, and have being using it for over 5 years. THIS camera does not wants to connect...AT ALL. Yes, and I know how to work networks, wi-fi and direct connect to modem/router. For some reason this camera is not doing it!

I have used Amcrest Cams for many years, their quality is good, and normally their electronics work well, the only problem I experience with this camera is that when used with a 3rd party NVR the image will not show on the monitor, other brands will without any problems. I contacted tech support and for the most part they are pretty good, but this time I got nowhere. I ended up returning the product.

I have a number of older amcrest cameras. they have updated thier applications so that the newer cameras have difficulty connecting to the older app. Tat is why I purchased these and they work well except for the lower resolutions of these cameras compared to the newer ones.
