Does the trick!
Takes a couple of days for things to go from liquid to gel to solid poo - but it definitely works 👍. My cats are picky eaters but they didn’t seem to mind the taste of this. I mixed it into their wet food and did get some side-eye from them at first. But, the product doesn’t have much of a smell and they finished it up. My cats are lightweights at about 5lbs ea. Just to be on the safe side, I put @ 1/3 teaspoon in each of their bowls - in case one cat snarfed the other’s food. No changes in energy or puking. Only wish this product could also neutralise their hideous farts too but I guess one can’t expect miracles.

Works as intended for my cat
To begin with, I'm not vet so just undertsand that the following is just a lay-person's and lay-cat's experience, also I think I bought this on ebay and not Amazon (i've never before reviewed a product on here not purchased on here but thought this could help someone and also wanted to big up a helpful product): I understand that this is not a remedy for every pet since causes can vary so widely and every system is different as well but for my cat, this product has definitely contributed to his well-being. My cat has a very sensitive stomach but I have managed to control his bouts of diarrhea and vomiting through adding a probiotic and dietary enzymes supplment to his premium, grain-free wet food. Occasionally however, he stil has these break-through bouts of the runs (usually after hunting and eatting a moth or fly, bless him). With my cat, it was nearly impossible to stop the runs without treating him with metronidazole in the past, which entailed an expensive and harowing [for him] visit to the vet and sometimes lots of always inconclusive tests (he's been like this for seven years). Metronidazole can be incredibly effective but 1) cats absolutely loathe the taste and it was very upsetting for him and for me to have to subject him to the torture of the dosing. 2) I was sure that such frequent antibiotic treatment was bad for his longterm health since it kills healthy bacteria too and also possibly that he would develop a resistance to the treatment over time, rendering it ineffectual at some point.I also remembered that at every vet visit when I took him in for the runs, the vet would say very vaguely that she gave him something to soothe and coat his stomach along with his first dose of the antibiotic. She never mentioned what that was and I'm now convinced she sort of didn't want me to get wind of it. After reading whatever vet blogs and clinical trials I could, I started to suspect that what she was giving him was Kaolin (the med in this formula). I also reasoned that he always was relieved of the diarrhea right away, just after the vet visit, I always thought it was the metronidazole but perhaps it was the kaolin and that once his stomach was soothed and coated, there wouldn't be so much kindling for further incident. In my cat's case, thus far (and it's been about seven months), this product has worked wonders in the rare instances when he's afflicted. He's had diarrhea just three times in all those months (it used to be about every two weeks before the probiotic and enzymes) and each time, I have given him the kaolin, and not only did it end the diarrhea immediately but it did so, and this is key, without my having to first feed him boiled chicken and then having to slowly introduce his cat food again, etc, with all the stress and setbacks of further episodes that would entail. I've dosed him with just under a teaspoon (as per the instructions) and then just kept him off any food for maybe five hours after dosing him and then reintroduced his dry food first (he won't eat more than half a can of wet a day so he gets premium grain-free kibble as well) and the kaolin has worked each time. While it's disgusting tasting obviously, it's nowhere near as awful for him as the metronidazole, and anyway, I only have needed to dose him once as opposed to twice for at least seven days! I don't recommend you use this product regulalry or anything without consulting a vet and NEVER give a cat Bismuth subsalicylate (pepto), the new Kaopectate has both Kaolin and Bismuth subsalicylate and is really very toxic for a cat from all I've read (but you probably know this is why you are considering this product which thankfully doesn't include the Bismuth subsalicylate). Anyway, I'm really grateful for this treatment option. No promises though since this is only my cat's experience on this. And good luck finding solutions that work!

Not working
We adopted a kitten who turned out to have FPV. The vet put him on antibiotics to fight off secondary infections and I don't know if that makes D------ worse or not. The virus itself causes really bad D------ so I ordered this medication hoping to keep our little guy from getting dehydrated. Because he is so small I started with a 1/4, then 1/2, now full dose. He's been on a full dose for 1-1/2 days and So far it isn't helping at all and he absolutely HATES the taste. Can't blame him. I so want this work. I also give him boiled chicken and rice, which isn't helping either. Poor guy,

Reliable treatment of a symptom
This works quickly and reliably for standard, run-of-the-mill diarrhea. Obviously if your animal has had diarrhea for a few days and you have no idea why, you should probably go to a vet... But in my case, I have a bottle-raised kitten that survived panleukopenia (miraculously), while her 5 siblings all succumbed to it. Her intestines took a beating, and she had to be on antibiotics to prevent secondary infection for the entire first 2 months of her life. This anti-diarrheal, of course, did nothing for the diarrhea of panleukopenia. (I wouldn't expect it to.) However, after that had (finally) passed, the kitten still had to be weaned, which is a process that is already stressful for the digestive system. So around 5 weeks old, still on antibiotics (which, while protecting from bad bacteria, also destroys the good bacteria in the digestive system, and can actually CAUSE diarrhea), she was tired of the bottle and wanted food, but her tummy was having a hard time with the switch. She was on this stuff off and on for weeks! (DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT A VETERINARIAN! This kitten was seeing a vet very frequently, so it was ok, but if your cat has diarrhea for weeks and you haven't been to a vet, STOP. NOW.)But every time we took her off of this, the diarrhea came back. She is 10 weeks old now, and a couple weeks ago we started combining Forti-Flora in her food, and stopped the anti-diarrheal. We had tried other probiotics before, but the Forti-Flora did the trick!!! She has perfectly normal poops now, but I will always keep a bottle of this on hand!Bottom line, it definitely treats diarrhea, as a symptom. It will NOT cure anything, but if you have a situation like this, where it's just an irritated belly on a vicious cycle of diarrhea and intestinal inflammation, this may end the cycle.

Item pictured is not what you’ll get anymore
This product used to be one of my staples for our multiple cat household & rescue. So much easier to dose than the propectalin peanut butter texture in the syringe! The product pictured is NOT the product you’ll get anymore. The pectin is now listed as an inactive ingredient, and isn’t on the front label like in the photo.I’m not sure why the mfg chose to change it and keep the photo the same. I can’t seem to get ahold of them- so that speaks volumes. It’s not eligible for a return, but Amazon did give me a refund.Posting this in hopes that it helps someone else from becoming duped like I was, and then out of the medicine needed and at the vet $$.
