For me - easily the best of the GPS trackers
I did a lot of research before buying a tracker for my cat. I ended up trying three different ones (Weenect, Tabcat, Tailit). Of the GPS trackers, this ends up being a clear winner for me. For starters - it works and is easy to charge, easy to setup. It comes with a magnetic charging cradle which is neat and tidy. It is one of the lightest GPS trackers available (although be aware - although they tell you it weighs 25g or so, the silicone case that comes with it to hold it onto your cat's collar weighs another 11g - so really it is between 35-40g total - but my cat is not too large - less than 4kg - and she doesn't seem to mind it). Features wise, it is packed with good things: it can ring, it can vibrate, it is water proof. Battery life is *very good*. They say 2-3 days but because it goes into standby mode whenever you cat is dozing and not moving, and because you can set how often it updates when your cat is moving, it will go up to 5 days between charges. The standby mode when not moving is perfect for when your cat loses her collar (and she will) - the device will remain trackable for a good long time! But - where this device REALLY shines is in the software that Weenect provide with it. Of course, like any other GPS tracker you pay Weenect a monthly fee to cover the SIM card contract and the use of their servers and software - but in Weenect's case it is totally worth it. Both their Website and the iPhone App (and I assume the Android app is very similar) are *outstanding*. They beat any other GPS tracker service website I looked at into dust. The software is easy to use, quick to log in to, and has a plethora of features including history over past 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 hours, hotspot view, easy-to-configure geo-fencing, very intuitive interface, and you can interact with the device in real time - updating how often it sends you locations, make it ring or vibrate - request a fresh GPS position, and even send a voice call to the device (10 minutes of this per month included in the fee). I cannot stress enough how good the software is. The other devices I looked at, some of them may have bene as good technically and in terms of weight - but none of them came close on the software side and it is of course this that you will be interacting with, - not the device itself. Finally - quite neatly, the device has a button it which when pressed will alert you to your phone and email immediately, and allow you to call and speak to the device (like a mobile phone!). So if your cat gets injured or lost someone can who finds it can press this button and be put in touch with you immediately. So - I waffled on. But - in summary - a well-designed lightweight device with good battery life, works very reliably (I've been using it for a month now), and EXCELLENT software interface both on traditional PC/laptop via a web browser and also on your handheld device. Oh - and they have good support too.

Do not buy this product - It is not fit for purpose.
When I first tried this product back in February, it seemed quite good, but after a while I realised that it has a massive design flaw. When the tracker stops moving for more than a few minutes, it is supposed to power down its GPS to save the battery. That would be fine, but what actually happens is that it shuts down completely!! In this state, it cannot be contacted at all, even if there is a strong mobile signal present. If the tracker moves again, it will sometimes wake-up, but often not. Often you have to switch it off and on again before it will re-connect.Imagine if your cat has been hit by a car and is lying injured and immobile by the side of the road. The tracker will shut down and you cannot contact it to obtain the location. Meanwhile, your cat is dying.Weenect eventually supplied a replacement but that is just the same. The customer support is terrible, staffed by useless numpties who just send pro-forma replies. They refuse to acknowledge that there is a problem, let alone do anything about it.The Weenect tracker is defective by design, and not fit for purpose.

Excellent tracker
Really happy with these trackers. One of my cats went missing 4 weeks ago and hasnât been seen since which has been totally heartbreaking. I have since bought this tracker for my other cats and am very happy with it. It is a bit bulky for a cat but none of them seem to mind and they get on with their roaming no problem. I have tested it and have always been able to locate them when theyâre out and about. While the GPS is unlikely to work if they get trapped inside a building you would be able to see their last known location so youâd still be able to isolate the building theyâre in. Itâs also really reassuring to be able to see what their usual routes are and mine all stay away from the road. Make sure you get a quick release collar to thread the tracker on to. You can get the Weenect insurance for if it gets lost but you are likely to always be able to find it anyway. If you have a cat that doesnât usually wear a collar I would get them used to that first. I initially bought a radio tracker as itâs smaller and although gets similar star ratings as this one I thought it was useless. I know other reviewers of this one have had issues with the GPS accuracy but Iâve not experienced that at all and Weenect have great tutorials to make sure you get the best out of it. The battery life is fine - I take the tracker off the cats when they come in at night and then charge it every other day. You do have to pay a subscription as well but if you are attached to your cats Iâm sure youâd gladly pay that to get them back if they got lost/injured and you couldnât find them. The app functionality is great and also great for if you have multiple pets. I did loads of research and this one consistently came out as top and in my experience rightly so.

Will let you find lost cat, accurate enough!
Users should note that unlike the GPS in your phone, this doesn't use phone signals for better accuracy - that basically means if the tracker is inside a building or in narrow gardens, alleys etc, it will only be accurate to around 'a few gardens' worth. For me, that's fine, as I still get an idea of where the cat goes (when it moves i can sort of smooth out the spikes in the displayed track). Should I ever need to actually go looking for him, you can always sound the (loud) alarm. I'm sure you will always be near enough to the tracker to hear it. With this tracker, you will likely be able to find your lost cat, but you will not be able to prove who's garden it has gone into, if that's your aim.In short, not perfect, but it's great for peace of mind and after some research is probably the best one out there for general 'UK terraced houses neighborhood' use.App is OK, a little clunky. The device itself is small and light, and my fairly medium size/lightweight rescue cat has had no problem with it, seems comfortable to wear. You have to pay upfront for 3 months use. Again, no huge amount for the peace of mind it has given.
