It works!
I’ve unsuccessfully tried these types of tools in the past so I was skeptical, but I had a vintage decoration (a crystal tree with mini lights) that stopped working so I decided to give this one a try. It worked! I only had to pull the trigger once and the lights came back on, allowing me to identify and replace the bad lights. It was super easy and I’m very happy with this product.

Doesn’t work.
The voltage sensor does not work. I am sending it back.

saved my tree
I really like this Christmas light tester and the spare bulbs that came with it. It helped me find the broken bulbs super fast. Before, my lights wouldn’t turn on and I didn’t know why. This tester made it easy to check each bulb. It beeped or lit up when it found the bad one. I just pulled it out and popped in a new bulb. The extra bulbs were the perfect size. They fit just right and worked right away. Now all my lights shine bright again. I didn’t have to throw away my pre lit tree due to the lights going out this year. This tool saved me time, money, and a lot of stress!

Works great
This device illuminates any dead strand, making it easy to identify which lights are out. It detects breaks in the line and identifies faulty bulbs, and this includes a bulb tester, a fuse tester, and a light remover to prevent painful fingertips when attempting to remove manually.

Overpriced knockoff of the Lightkeeper Pro
This is a Chinese knockoff of the Lightkeeper Pro, an incredibly useful tool for repairing incandescent mini-bulb Christmas light sets. It's more expensive than the Lightkeeper Pro. It's more awkward to use than the Lightkeeper Pro. Unlike the Lightkeeper Pro, this one isn't UL Listed, even though you'll be using it with live electrical wiring, so you won't have assurance that you won't be electrocuted. And it doesn't seem to work as well. Why wouldn't you just buy the Lightkeeper Pro?Well, this one DOES come with a collection of no-name bulbs that aren't identified as being 2.5V or 3.5V, so they may or may not work for your situation.Buy the original instead. The idea behind these products is that when a string of mini incandescent Christmas lights fails to light up, it's almost always because one of the bulbs has blown AND the bulb's "shunt" failed to activate. This type of light has a small wire that's supposed to fuse into place and carry power when the filament burns out, so a blown bulb doesn't cause the whole string to stop working. Sometimes, when the filament breaks, it doesn't generate enough heat to fuse the shunt. These tools send a voltage spike into the cord that will fuse any unfused shunts in the wire, causing it to light up again. Once lit, you can easily identify the blown bulbs and replace them. (And you must replace them—each blown bulb increases the voltage on the other bulbs, making the remaining bulbs more likely to fail.)This one's just a shoddy knockoff of the original shunt-fusing tool...

Seems solidly made
I saw this after I spent hours fixing lights and bought it impulsively. In checking it out, it looks solid and the instructions are pretty clear. I am not dragging all of my lights out to test them though. Once I test it out more I’ll update this. For now, I’ll say it’s as well made as I would expect it to be. The trigger feels solid and the metal pieces are all securely installed. The instructions are detailed and it claims to be able to both fix lights that aren’t transmitting signals and those bulbs that are burned out. It can also identify failed fuses. I hope it lives up to the expectations.

Great item to help you fix light strings
I put tons of Christmas lights every year and one of the things that drives me crazy every single year is the fact that Christmas light strings go bad a lot. Not all of them but enough to make it annoying. Firs it them is hard, however with this tool and supplies, it is easy. At least for me since k have been using light like these for a long time. This mini kit works as described and will let you enjoy your light without the inconvenience of deat lights.

I Really Like This!
Christmas tree light issues are a major headache! This wonderful, handy tool takes all of the guesswork out of troubleshooting your Christmas tree light strings! I also like having the extra 50 bulbs to be able to replace the ones that are found to be faulty! It is easy to use and does exactly what it says it does! I definitely recommend it!
