The large stuffed hippo from Marysun arrives in one of those taped up, heavy tyvek-type red bags with hearts that are almost impossible to open.Once you do get the package open, the hippo will start to come back to life. You'll need to massage the polycotton fiberfill lumps with your hands or toss the hippo into a low heat cycle for a little bit to get him to return to full size. He's actually larger than I expected, even though I knew he was going to be 20". He measures 20" in length, even though he is sitting on his hind legs, and then he is about 13" tall (while sitting) and 11" wide. The measurements may seem wonky, but you'll see what I mean when you get him.The hippo is made from a soft, low pile, grey plush material; his features are embroidered or sewn on, so no worries about babies and toddlers swallowing anything. I could not find a fabric content tag, but in the seller description it lists cotton. That may be for the two felted incisors that hang from his smiling face.It's a cute plush toy, he is very squishy and should become a beloved favorite in no time.

My 6 month grandson was wary at first, but those floppy ears clinched the deal. If he didn't like it, I'd take it home with me as a snuggle buddy.
