Can someone who's assembled this post some photos of the finished model? It'd be nice if a ruler could be included or something to show the size too.

Does this require painting?

"require"?... No, but I would recommend it. The molded color of light blue is much to dark. A very light gray is more appropriate. If you try to apply the waterslide decals over the bare plastic, they are likely to not adhere. Also, since the molded color is darker than it should be, not all the decals will contrast enough to be easily seen. Color of the plastic aside, this is a very nice kit that fits together very well.

Does this come with some kind of stand?

Yes it comes with the dome stand

I'm guessing this is a pretty small kit?

Defiant was a small ship but like capt Ben Sisko say she small but she have teeth
