Title is a little misleading
The title is why I gave this book a 3 rating as it seams a little misleading. One might think it is telling you how to make baby blankets. It does not. It tells you how to make swatches in some cases but not all of the stitches. As far as using them for baby blankets, there are some that are too open and the baby's fingers would get caught. Is it a good book for learning new stitches? Yes. Are they all for baby blankets? No. Is there ever a pattern for a baby blanket? No

Great ideas, definetly on my to do list.
The swatches are all done in colored yarn, no black and white pictures. The directions are easy to read and follow. I wish I had had this book years ago.

A Wonderful Book; Choice of Crochet and Knitting Patterns!
Looked through this book yesterday and today to look for a pattern to make some squares to donate. Wonderful squares and they have difficulty ratings for each project; basically easy and the next level up. Easy is designated by one crochet hook; the next level by two hooks. For knitting, easy is one pair of knitting needles and the next step up in difficulty is two pair of knitting needles. I believe there are 3 hook/needle squares also.

More extensive selection of patterns than expected. Nice illustrations, good color photos

Inspiration needed? Look at this book!
I have so much inspiration from this book! I only wish they would include border ideas with each pattern. Not enough books do that. Otherwise, it is an excellent book to have for those times when you need to start a project and are not sure what you want to do next.

Baby to go!
Great book. I like the different patterns and options she provides. Jan Eaton always has great ideas and this book provides many jumping off points for anything I want to create. It stimulates my imagination and makes me want to grab my needles and knit a baby blanket.

Beautiful ideas
This book will definitely give you ideas for that next project. And who says it only has to be for babies? Some of the patterns in here can be made larger for an adult. If only I were two or three people, I would get to indulge in more of these wonderful patterns.

Well worth the purchase.
Excellent.Various pattern designs available, for knitting and crochet blankets and edgings, which may be applied to squares, garments etc.Step by step technique instructions are given with detailed illustrations of stitch formation, in both knitting and crochet. They are at the back of the book.Guidance for yarn usage, is also supplied.I am not a novice, however I have gained tips on items never applied over time.True beginners, I feel would manage to follow the straight forward technique instructions.

Fab for my holiday projects....
So far I am loving this handy book. I have had a go at three squares and plan to take it on holiday with me and my new brightly coloured cotton yarns. It is well laid out, with colourful pictures and clear instructions. Just one thing I can think of that would improve it, and that would be to make the text much bigger. I take my specs off to see my work, but need to then hold the page right close up to read the patterns. lol...

Could be better organised
It's a nice book with some lovely patterns in it but I'd have preferred to see a section for knitting and a section for crochet rather than having a mix of patterns for both crafts on each page.
