A pretty good short bonding project for parents and kids... favorite Xmas gift for my son...
Just to give some background... this was given to a 10 going on 11 yr old boy who never had any headphones.. just cheap ear buds. He wasn't sure what it was when he opened it but after we worked on it together it quickly became his favorite gift this year. You need to download the App and we went through the 18 quick lessons/videos/activities to learn about frequency, spatial sound, physics of sound, etc. Some of the concepts were a bit too advanced for my son.. middle school or maybe high school level. The activities were simple and kept my son interested. They weren't tedious and short. He really liked the part where he had to put together his headphones. It's pretty simple and fool proof. He loved the ability to customize his headphones. He really got a kick out of creating his own color. The headphone voices the colors as he cycles through them. And he created one with his name. So every time it gets to his color, he hears his name. It also states battery % and what device it's connect to on power up. It only comes with a USB charging card. It seems to have a headphone jack to plug in an auxilary cord but I haven't tried this. The control buttons are pretty simple - volume, play/pause, next track, and volume. The sound quality is OK, not great at the either high or low range, not much bass. Headphones are pricey and I think it's more of a niche product. If your kids wants Beats, then get them that. I think this is good for kids who are not yet into or know of the "cool" brands. I can't comment on durability or battery life.

Great project and kids love them!
We purchased these as a Christmas present for our 8 year old son. He really enjoyed building them with Daddy. The process was a great learning experience. There are a lot of little experiments built into the building process with much to learn about sound. The end result is a great little set of headphones that my son uses all of the time with his iPad. The charge seems to last quite a while too - we have only had to charge them once in nearly 2 weeks. My only problem is that now my 9 year old wants a set for his birthday and the price has climbed back up post-Christmas.

Perfect gift for tween!
We wanted to get our tween girl grown up headphones. However, we still had concerns that she may crank the volume too loud and damage hearing. These are great quality and fun to set up. She liked designing her own, and the biggest hit was being able to modify voices into funny ones (Darth Vader or Chipmunk like). Perfect gift!!

Educational and functional!Impressive ! Best gift to buy !
Loved watching my kids build these headphones ! Very easy to build just follow the insructions on your iPad . Good quality and variety of inserts to change look of the ear pieces. I really hope Bose builds introduces more electronics that kids can build on their own. Highly Recommended.Built by my 12 yr old boy.

Low sound quality
Great for the price but doesn’t impress me with sound quality. Great kids project though! She loved putting it together!

Best Kids Headphone
I bought these for my 10 year old son who loves them. He had a blast building them and programming the lighting. He is able to connect them to all of his devices and they work great.

Great for preteens.
Got this for my 12 year old. She liked them. I think they are pretty neat. Of course she has air pods so she doesn’t use them anymore. But I use them now.

Good headphones bad learning experience
The product works really well. But as a learning kit, it has some issues. The instructions to assemble is hard to find. You have to download an app on your iPhone (only Apple is supported) and then go through several “games” to get it. This resulted in my kid getting frustrated and crying in the corner. Don’t leave your kid to do this alone. It’s not intuitive enough.Once we figured it out, we ignored the games and use it as a Bluetooth device.
