Effective wrist brace and excellent customer service
I highly recommend this brace for effectiveness, comfort, and great customer service.I found the brace effective for the initial stages of healing a TFCC injury as well as for returning to intensive athletics. It immobilised my wrist very well in the days after my injury and enabled me to do everyday activities I couldn’t before I received it (e.g. turning doorknobs, holding moderately heavy items). It was also comfortable, as far as good braces can be. After about 6 weeks of wearing it constantly, my wrist healed well enough that I could take it off. When I started climbing again without it, I felt some pain, but when I put the brace back on, the pain was mostly eliminated.I have been impressed by the functionality of the brace but chose to write this review primarily because the customer service was excellent. I reached out via email, and the team was responsive and addressed my issue quickly and politely. Great customer experience.

Really effective but really over priced
If you have a tfcc tear this support really does help ease the pain and allows you more use of your wrist. Also feel like my wrist has started to heal a lot more in the last month compared to very little improvement in the previous 6 months so I can't really complain at its effectiveness, it has really helped BUT as others have said it is really over priced for what is effectively a bit of velcro and microfiber cushioning. You should at least get 2 per pack and that would not seem like as bad a deal. The item itself must cost pennies to produce. It's not like they will have spent millions on R&D, it's a very basic concept. If it was say £10 I would happily buy more in the future if needed but at £25 I feel its just the principle and being over charged doesn't sit right with me. I could probably make my own in the future if I really wanted to

Would recommend
I have suffered from RSI related pain on the thumb side of both wrists for more than 20 years, but about 18 months ago I experienced a really sharp pain on the ulna side of my left wrist (when turning a door handle that I didn't realise had been tightened!!). I strapped it up with one of my many wrist supports I already had and rested it as much as possible. The pain pretty much went away, but a few months later I experienced exactly the same pain (this time from turning he shower knob!!). Out came the variety of wrist supports again for another couple of months. Pain lessened, but never went. Twisted it again on the shower knob a couple of months later!Did some research then about ulna sided pain and came across the wrist widget. (you may ask at this point why I didn't visit my doctor, but that's a long story involving many years of frustration...). Thought I'd give it a try, even though it was a bit priceyWell, at first the pain worsened for a couple of weeks, but then there was a low but noticeable improvement. I wore it 24/7 (either just got it wet in the shower, or wore a plastic bag over my arm. Didn't want to risk the shower knob without it on!!) After a few months I would say the pain had pretty much totally gone.It was at this point I realised I'd actually been wearing the thing the wrong way up for all those months!! The instructions are basic to say the least, and even after watching the videos of how to put it on I has somehow been getting it wrong. I had the harder side against my skin, and the softer side outwards. Ok, I know that seems daft, but it seemed to follow the pictures...I was wearing some "underlay" underneath to stop it scratching too much.So then I started wearing it the right way round, just for security really as the pain was pretty much gone (with the other issues I have with my wrists. it was hard to tell definitively which bit was hurting...). After about 6/7 months I weaned myself off it, and went cold turkey with no strapping. This lasted a glorious couple of months, then some pain came back, not really sure what caused it, thumb or ulna side, so went back to some general strapping.A year on from buying it, I am back wearing it again, but again it is really just for security. Having had 20 years of RSI issues, it kinda feels weird not having strapping on, so I'd rather wear a small inconspicuous thing like this and feel happy. I can report it is still going strong, not too tatty, velcro still holding. Wear it 24/7 EXCEPT in the shower - I am now braving turning the knob very carefully! So although £20 something sounds a lot, I have had my money's worth I think!

Overpriced but functional
Seems to do the job, but considering how cheap the material is (my girlfriend got a load of cable tidies for pence made out of the same stuff) it seems rather overpriced

Worth the investment if you have a TFCC injury!
I bought this wrist strap after the physio told me I had a TFCC injury from weight lifting and doing handstands (a new lockdown hobby!). The pain was so bad at one point I couldn’t really use my right hand in day to day activities. After a month of doing stretches and resting the wrist it was a bit better but not much.I found the Wrist Widget online and have now been wearing it for a month. It’s been amazing. The pain is my wrist has gone and I can feel it strengthening every week. It’s still not back to full strength yet but it feels like it will be in another few weeks (I’m learning that TFCC injuries are slow to heal). I’ve now been able to incorporate light pushing exercises back into my workouts (whilst wearing the strap and another wrist wrap for security) which would have been impossible a month ago.I’ve found the strap works best when nestled right up against the base of where your hand meets your wrist so that it restricts the ability of your hand to bend backwards. See attached photo. I also find the if you tighten it with your hand splayed out it will allow you to tighten the strap snugly but without cutting off your circulation.I agree with some of the comments saying the materials aren’t worth the money, but I’m judging the value of this based on the value to me (which is much higher), not the value of the materials. You also have to factor in the “cost” of the return policy and the research which has gone into it. So I’m really not complaining about price given that it’s working.I also think the strap is actually quite cool looking to wear. I bought it in black and it matches the Apple Watch I wear on my other wrist. Most of my friends just thought it was a fashion item and I will actually slightly miss wearing it when I can take it off!Overall, if you’re looking for a wrist strap that’s specifically for a TFCC injury that you can wear every day, I would definitely recommend this.

This little guy was a lifesaver
I really messed up my wrist while lifting weights last spring. I bought this one and a larger brace that included a loop for the thumb which looked like it would be better. I was very surprised - the more "robust" wrist brace did almost nothing to help, but this little velcro loop did an amazing job keeping things in place until they healed permanently. It still took several weeks, but all I did was put this on at night so I didn't twist anything in my sleep and it eventually healed without any lasting pain or stiffness. I definitely recommend this brace!

Pricey, but it works. Velcro wears out quite quickly.
I'd read about the wrist widget and how it really helped with the ulna bone 'popping'. I found it worked really well and I felt my ulna was supported and my wrist started to heal. Unfortunately, after 6 weeks, my wrist still needed support, but the velcro no longer attached. I bought a cheaper version of a wrist brace, but that didn't actually support my wrist. So, my plan is, to pay for another wrist widget. It's cheaper than physiotherapy, but it's quite expensive for what you get.Update March 25th 2024 - My third wrist widget arrived today. It was a replacement because the velcro no longer worked. I was incredibly disappointed to find that the backing paper on the velcro strip had been removed and it looked like my supposedly 'brand new' widget had already been worn. As the velcro doesn't last long, I expect to receive a totally new item to ensure I can use it as long as possible. Check your 'new' widget when it arrives to make sure it's actually new!

Buenaza
