## Description

Product Description Lumie Bodyclock wakes you gradually with light that mimics a real sunrise. The brightening light naturally brings you round from sleep, prompting your body to reduce the production of sleep hormones such as melatonin, whilst increasing the levels of hormones like cortisol that help you get up and go. This provides a fantastic start to the day for sufferers of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and the winter blues, and helps anyone who is not naturally a morning person to feel brighter and more energetic first thing. Lumie Bodyclock are available with a range of extra features to help you wake brighter and sleep well. From Lumie, light therapy specialists and inventors of the very first wake-up lights. Review: Nice light to gradually wake you up - Had this a little while now before writing review. This is a great click, the light starts from a soft red to a bright white light, which is nice to wake you up, the alarm is not to loud. Easy to set up and has lots of functionality, glad a bought it
Review: A really good wake-up light - Having gone deaf, alarms that use sound aren't any good to me. I've had a wake-up light before from Phillips but I actually prefer my Lumie one, and here's why: 1. You can turn off the sound, which might be good for some hearing people. This model of Lumie light has an *optional* beep, but you can turn it to zero when you set the alarm. More expensive Lumie models have background sounds like mountain streams, goats, etc, but this one doesn't. The sound on my old Phillips one couldn't be turned off, and (back when I could hear it!), was rudely awoken by what sounded like a gong and a furious baboon. 2. You can turn off the clock display. If you want complete darkness in your room at night, or you find seeing the time annoying if you're struggling to sleep, this is a great setting. Once it's turned off, you just need to tap the light for the clock to show for a couple of seconds. It'll also display if you put something down next to the light! But that's not a big problem. 3. You can change the brightness of the clock display. An option if you don't want to turn off the display completely but don't want to have the time seered into your eyeballs. 4. The wake-up time is set at half an hour. So if you set your alarm for 7 am the light starts to glow from 6.30 am. More expensive Lumies (and maybe cheaper ones from other brands) give you a selection of wake-up periods (eg. 15, 30, or 45 minutes), but I find 30 minutes perfectly fine for me. 5. It has a sunset setting. So if you want to be lulled to sleep with the room slowly darkening, this would be great for you. Again, this is set at 30 minutes. 6. You can use it as a bedside light. Just use the plus button to turn it on, and minus to turn off (you'll need to press them several times as it goes through the phases of the sunrise/sunset cycles. 7. It's fairly easy to use. Just read the manual first, and it'll all make a lot of sense!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is how we should wake! Shame such limited functions. Cheaper options around.
*by O***D on 12 February 2019*

Does it do the job? Yep! My body clock is all over the place in winter. Usually a choice between sleeping in or dragging myself out of my pit zombified, with a blaring alarm. The Lumie has sorted me out. I now wake in the morning in the same way I do in summer! It is a nice, gentle, wake up which leaves me feeling fit for the day ahead. It's not a miracle worker, I still have to go to sleep at a reasonable hour, and stay asleep, to feel refreshed of a morning but it is a really good method of waking up. I've had it for a little over a month and even when I have forgotten to set it at night, I have still woken at the usual time. This suggests that it is genuinely adjusting my body clock. Made of plastic but not flimsy, looks quite nice. LED light doesn't use loads of electric and should last for years. The buttons are a bit of a shame. Flush with the facia so not easy to find in the dark. There aren't any extra features, even those you may expect with a digital alarm clock. it does what it says and not one jot more. I am disappointed that it does not have a battery back up to keep the clock on when unplugged but it is quick and easy to reset the clock and it does retain the alarm settings, although I still have to click through to confirm them each night. Being able to set the digital clock display to turn itself off is an excellent feature. They have designed the display to come back on with the slightest touch. That can be a problem because the slightest vibration brings it back on. Really pleased with the purchase. I highly recommend these daylight alarms to everyone. Price is steep but it was worth it to me to go with a trusted brand where I could be confident the light was tuned to the correct frequency. There are many cheaper versions with more features out there and in hindsight, I may have tried one of those before paying £75.
