DIY Punch Needle Kits for Beginners Cute Cartoon Highland Cow with Daisy Flower with Hoop Embroidery Punch Needle Starter Craft Set Easy for Adults and Children Festival Gift and Decoration 20x20cm-1

UPDATE: since the writing of my original review, CSRP Handiwork was kind enough to send me a few kits with updated revised materials, and I’ve since completed the Highland Cow punch needle kit. The contents, packaged in a nice box, are improved as follows: finer, easier to use yarn with appropriate colors, thinner & longer punch needle - love it, better fabric, better scissors … I also checked out the online video, even though audio free, it provided great examples of different stitch techniques to get certain design looks. I’ve also previously watched a few short online utube videos as well. I will note that with the Highland Cow, while I had enough yarn to finish the project, I had to be careful with the lighter brown color & not waste it; may be partly my fault because I did some extra layers of stitching in a few places. I’m very happy with these newly revised kits from CSRP, I appreciate their customer service, & will definitely purchase these fun, cute, & relaxing kits again. I’ve included a few photos to show the colors of the yarns in different lighting.Why did you pick this product vs others?:Sooo … I’m glad this Wolf needle punch kit was not my first kit to try (it was my 2nd); this kit left me frustrated. I’ve worked with many various types of yarns before while knitting, etc., & I believe the included yarn in this kit may be the lowest quality yarn I’ve ever used; it tended to split & came apart too easily. Also, not enough yarn was included for one of the colors. One of the colors included was the wrong color: instead of a golden brown, yellow was included. The yarn was too thick for the project; I couldn’t get the detail as needed (& as pictured online). The yarn was too thick for the needle punch tool, but useable. After spending too much for this kit for what I received, I definitely did not want to go buy my own yarn. The fabric was of low quality, & also not as pictured online. The included scissors would not cut the yarn; I threw that away. The threading tool came apart, but I repaired with my own tape. Luckily, I had already watched punch needle videos on utube, so I was able to make this project work with extra effort. I wanted to do some silk stitches, but they mostly came out when I tried it, & I had to be careful because the punch needle left oversized holes in the fabric, so I needed to get the stitches right the first time as much as possible. The included hoop is a good hoop. I used the plastic needle to drawstring stitch the fabric behind the hoop. I received this item quickly.

Fun activity to do as a night shift worker to pass the time. I did it in less than 6 hours while working. Instructions are unclear and the yarn threader broke pretty early on. Ran out of the dark yarn. He’s cute this and I got a little creative with the extra colors

Unfortunately, I suffer from an over inflated ego, which makes me see a craft and immediately think “Pfft, I can do that..” lucky for me (and my bank account) that this is, in fact, a craft that I CAN do! Like the other reviews said, the instructions aren’t the most crystal clear, but after a 2 second YouTube video, I was basically an expert.As pictured- I didn’t run out of any yarn, some colors I definitely came close, but I didn’t need to buy any more yarn or anything (this project would’ve never gotten done if I did), I digress. I started this project at the respectable hour of midnight, and finished just around 3:30 AM (… and after admiring my work for 20 minutes, here I am, writing a review). The yarn was surprisingly nice to the touch, it wasn’t scratchy like I thought it would be. I immediately broke the yarn threader though, but then again, it’s literally a wire held together by the equivalent of dollar store tape. Once the tape is off.. you can still use it, so, did I even break it? ANYWAY! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this project and I’m very happy with the end result, I’ll definitely be buying more in the future.

This is very disappointing. I was trying this for the first time. Pen for it is horrible. Wire will not go through. I had to go to store and get one and they are to small or to big for this. Very flimsy and scissors don't cut.

I bought two because I'm a beginner. I made the stitches too small on the first one. Also, I ran out of the included yarn. Before I made the second one I watched on-line tutorials for punch needle. The second one came out great and I did not run of the included yarn. I made it into a small pillow. I love the horse picture. If you're a beginner, please don't give up on the first try.

If you can YouTube, you can do this project.The included “instructions” are worthless.Not enough brown yarn (see photo), lots of extra blue and green.I think the needle is too big, the yarn too thick for the canvas.Fortunately, I have a brain and could figure out if you poke a hole where the eyes go, the included eye “buttons” fit just fine.Would not buy again.

This was a cute and easy project. This was my first time doing this type of craft. It took several hours and I had to be conservative with the blue yarn as I was close to running out, but it ended up coming together. I'd buy another kit.

The colors are not accurate at all. The cow is supposed to be brown with light brown accents, but they gave me orange and yellow. (See photos for comparison). The green is also supposed to be a softer, almost teal color, and as you can see the kit came with Kelly green. The instructions are also very hard to follow, which was not helpful for a beginner, as the kit described. Do not waste your money
