Exactly what I needed for my Whirlpool water softener
Arrived in a timely manner and undamaged. This power supply is exactly what I needed to replace the faulty power supply on my Whirlpool WHES44 water softener. Yes, that's right...Whirlpool, Kenmore, etc...all manufactured by Ecodyne Water Systems, same thing just different stickers! Check the label or manual if you don't believe me. This 24VDC 500mA class 2 power supply (PN 7351054) replaces your old 28VDC 350mA class 2 power supply (PN 7337482). Apparently, there was a known issue with the old one and this one replaces it. Too bad the old one went out 5 months past the 1yr warranty expiration, but only 5 months in sevice. Tip: Buy the stupid bottle of cleaner WITH the softener to extend the warranty to 2yrs! That's right, it's too late because you're already looking at this part. I've tried looking for this at local stores...including Lowe's (where I bought the water softener) with no luck. This was the best deal over Whirlpool online parts and Sears online parts...both will charge hefty shipping and take much longer. I decided to post this since my water softener has been working for a month after this replacement. To troubleshoot your existing power supply: Do you have no display, no LED status indicator, no brine tank light, no error code, no button response, no regeneration...basically nothing works?1. If you're not electrically inclined, STOP and call a service rep, plumber, electrician etc. If you are, then proceed at your own risk.2. Check your circuit breaker. I know, but you'd be surprised. Just check it. Reset if necessary.3. Unplug your water softener power supply. Check your outlet. If it's GFCI (and it should be if your home is NEC compliant), check to see if it's tripped. Reset if necessary. Use an outlet checker tool (with GFCI if applicable) to verify wiring.4. With the power supply still unplugged, remove the top cover to your water softener. Observe or take a picture of how it's connected to the PCB (control board) and remove the connectors from the pins. Taking care to not ground or short the connectors, plug the power adapter back in and check the DC Voltage across the two connectors with a multimeter. If it's not the listed output voltage on your power supply, this is the defective part and you need to replace it. If it is, I'm sorry...then you might be looking at replacing the control board. To replace the power supply, simply install the new power supply connectors exactly how the old ones were, reinstall the lid, and plug the new power supply in the working outlet. Hopefully this fixes your problem and you should be back in business. Note: The connectors are not sized for polarity nor are they identified. But one wire is solid black and the other is black with a white/gray stripe...that's why you took a picture before. I can't guarantee what would happen if you reversed the polarity.Warning: I'm only listing a DIY guide to assist. If you're reading this, you're already trying to avoid a service call. I am in no way a professional and I am not responsible should anything go wrong. Do this at your own risk! You should have a knowledge of electricity and plumbing. Electricity, especially in the vicinity of water is dangerous! Always adhere to all manuals, instructions, rules, regulations, code, and safety practices. Good luck.

It works exactly as I needed.
I purchased it from Amazon because I know their return policy is hassle free. the manufacture has a cheaper price, but I wasn't certain it was this piece that had issues.Turns out, it was this part that had issues and this fixed and resolved my issues. Thanks!
