I always enjoy tinkering with projects, will there be some Raspberry pies, and Arduino, were these plentiful ESP32 SoC based devices.While I had initially picked up this screen to use as a display for my new Raspberry Pi 5, I decided to look into what other people use these force than just this, and I found a world of software on GitHub that makes this quite the handy little tool.The pen testing tool marauder is a powerful a piece of software that runs on this tiny, low power device. While I had installed that, I also just tried I'm something that runs of a developer application so I can see my Spotify song playing, where it is in the song (timeline), and skip if needed.

This ESP32 Touchscreen development board is a fantastic platform for projects requiring a compact display and touch interface. When you need to use a screen in a project, but don't want to have to manually wire it, it's a great way to shorten development.

The media could not be loaded. This is a fairly standard device in the maker world, and has come to be known as the “Cheap Yellow Display” or CYD. It’s an ESP32-WROOM-32, along with a display, SD card reader, speaker output, and one multicolor neopixel-style LED. It uses an older style micro-USB connector. The display uses SPI, which ties up a lot of the GPIO pins, but the user still has access to 4 GPIO pins via JST connectors (including I2C). The pins you can still access are GPIO 21, 22, 27, and 35, so you get the ADCs, but not the DACs. There are a lot of tutorials and sample codes available online if you search. It comes with one pre-connected JST header for the GPIOs.It comes pre-loaded with some nice demo code, but unfortunately there is no link to the source code for this, so I have no idea where you download it from the manufacturer once you overwrite it with your own code. I’d love it if the seller posted a link to the demo source code. I did test this with my own sample code, using the Arduino IDE and selecting the board as an ESP32-WROOM-DA module, using Espressif’s ESP32 library, and it worked great on the first try.I wish I could access a few more of the GPIOs, but you take what you can get on a fully-integrated board like this. I’m very happy with it, 5 stars!

Won’t stay on. It turns on for about 5 seconds and then shuts back off over and over. Tried usb power and 5v power via arduino and flipper zero and all had the same result. Ordered a new screen from a different vendor.
