I didn't like the way it was advertised. I almost bought the wrong thing, an item that would have done the exact reverse of what i needed it to do. If I hadn't been bright enough to think it through thoroughly I would have been extremely disappointed the day my package arrived and would have had to wait several more days to use the item I purchased this for. I am lucky that I am of above average intelligence. The advertisement for this item, as well as the opposite item, should be more specific, telling people exactly what these items will and will not accomplish for them. For example, this item WILL allow your Roku, xbox, playstation, etc...HDMI devices to be used on your old style TV with RCA plug ins. This item WILL NOT allow your RCA DVD player to hook up you your newer smart TV that has HDMI ports.

Maybe its just the one that i received but it has a problem where the video doesn't fit properly onto a CRT TV. for a 16:9 picture, It's stretched vertically which is noticeable. and horizontally part of the edges are cut off. And there is no option to change the output resolution. If viewing a picture that is 4:3 it will show bars on the left and right and the picture is still stretched vertically.This isn't an end all but it is annoying enough to where it can be a problem. I don't plan on returning it since it was cheap for its price. but I will look for a better alternative. As i said before, maybe its just mine that has this problem since I've read other reviews and have not seen anyone else mention this problem stretched and cut off picture.besides all that the picture is pretty clear and I think it even run at 60fps which is nice.An important note, ALWAYS power this device FIRST THEN connect an HDMI input to it. Otherwise it will work improperly or not work at all.

Bought this to experiment with a laptop style device connected to my car's rear entertainment system. The car's inputs use these analog RCA connectors, and I needed to transfer the devices' HDMI to the car's analog RCA, which is exactly what this does. The image quality is perfect, or at least as perfect as can be expected for a standard definition signal (Of course the original will look better if HD, the analog RCA cable is limited here to an NTSC 480i stream). The sound however, leaves something to be desired. I can't tell if its digital artifacts or some sort of ground loop issue, but the sound doesn't come out as clean as the headphone jack on the device does. There is some sort of background distortion or something. No matter, I can actually just use the laptop's headphone jack with a 3.5mm to RCA stereo (red/white) breakout cable and transfer the sound that way cleanly. If you are mostly interested in converting the video signal from HDMI to the yellow RCA, this will do the trick! If you need the sound off the HDMI, there are better (and likely more expensive) options.

This is a great gadget for joining older technology with the new. I purchased it so that I could connect my laptop computer via an HDMI cable to a TV that has the RCA inputs. Make the cable connections, plug the adapter in to the wall outlet and you are ready to go. I think that the picture suffers a little quality loss in the conversion, but not enough that I care. I use this TV to watch shows that are broadcast using over the air signals from an antenna or I stream movies from Amazon Prime from my laptop through a 10' HDMI cable, so any of those things can affect picture quality. I can improve the quality through the settings in the TV if I desire. An excellent solution to my problem for ten bucks.

I bought this in September of 2018 and have experienced nothing but trouble with it. I purchased this to attach a new dvd player to an older surround system. If I leave plugged in I will either have no video or no sound. I have to completely disconnect the unit for at least an hour, then plug the power cable in first before it will work. And sometimes I will loose sound half way thru a movie. I don't watch DVDs often, but when I do I would like for it to work without any hassle of trying to get everything to work.

What a cheap way to save a large tv. All my hdmi ports went out no longer under warranty heart broke. Thought hey for 10 bucks ill try it. Was hooking it up to a roku 3 (tried roku express didnt seem to work but seems express plus is perfectly designed for composite cables) At first didnt seem to work on 3 but then noticed it was only not working on sling. Hulu, netflix etc worked so deleted app and reinstalled. Started working. If i could get a little more time out of this tv great. Really pleased! I am no tecky by any stretch of the imagination and it worked.

The HDMI inputs on my TV quit working so I can no longer enjoy Netflix on my firestick it was snowy and would go in and out so instead of buying a new TV we bought this box to hook her fire stick up to the Avi inputs, and it is working perfectly I've had it for about a month now I was just sitting here watching Netflix on the TV and felt inspired to write a review on this product the seller is good, the product came in two days on Prime shipping, and it works perfectly with our fire stick, I am very happy
