Stylish machine that works fantastic
I’ve been really enjoying this Gemilai Owl espresso machine. The first thing I noticed was how nice it looks. It has a clean, retro style and looks great on my counter. It also feels solid and well made. It heats up fast and makes great espresso with good flavor and crema. The pressure gauge is easy to read and helpful if you’re still learning. The steam wand is strong and works well for making lattes once you get the hang of it. There is a short break in period at the beginning, but after a few uses it runs smoothly. Overall it’s easy to use, easy to clean, and very consistent. I’m happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good home espresso machine.

An Excellent and Stylish Espresso Machine for Home Baristas!
I'm absolutely loving this metallic silver Gemilai espresso machine—it looks super stylish and way more expensive than it actually is sitting on my kitchen counter. The digital screens for pressure and temp are super handy, and it pulls genuinely rich, cafe-quality shots every single time. If you're into lattes, the steam wand is a total game-changer for whipping up perfectly silky milk, even if you're a total beginner. Plus, the huge removable water tank and drip tray make daily cleanup an absolute breeze. Honestly, whether you're just starting out or already a home barista, you really can't beat the value and performance you get for the price.

Awesome Machine — Just Pair It with a Quality Grinder
I really like this coffee machine, but if you want to make a perfect cup, you’ll definitely need a good grinder to go with it. Pros: Super good-looking and very easy to use. The owl-style interface is super intuitive — the pressure, temperature, and time are all clearly shown on the screen. There aren’t many buttons either, so it’s basically just “power on → pick a mode → wait for your coffee.” The steam wand is powerful, and frothing milk is quick and easy. The foam is always nice and consistent. I’m not a latte art expert, but at least the results are steady every time — not like before when it was hit or miss. Cons: The brewing head has a pretty wide heated area, so if you accidentally touch it while it’s warming up, it can burn you. I recommend getting a heat-proof ring for safety — just keep in mind it’s an extra cost.

Defective machine.
The machine I ordered had a defective pump and touch screen. The technical support offered by Gemilai is through email only. Complete waste of time. It's hard to believe there is any sort of quality control when something like this gets shipped out.

Nice upgrade from Stilosa or Bambino
Really love the unique shiny look of this machine, great quality and build! Old cafe style look with modern features. Aluminum body which isnt the greatest for heat retention but when powered on for at least 10 mins, heats everything up including the portafilter when attached. Included portafilter is definitley of good quality and feels heavy. I got a bottomless one as well to see how my shots are coming out. Makes great espressos. Temperature is pretty consistent throughout when pulling a shot, although it may be a couple degrees less than what it's set to but can easily compensate by setting a couple degrees higher. Steam is very strong in this machine! It almost heats the milk a little too fast so be careful with small quantities of milk not to scorch them. Not sure if its just my machine. But it's great at making steamed and froth milk of at least 150ml, I still need to refine my technique. Too bad there isn't a setting to adjust steam temperature, only negative I would say about this espresso machine so far. Love the programable buttons for single and double shot. I came from a delonghi stilosa and I love the semi automatic features of this machine. No problems so far! I tried the bambino (not plus) before getting this and it couldn't get hot enough when pulling certain shots in an unpressurized basket and especially not hot enough for light roasted beans. Light roasted beans in this machine have been much better by adjusting the temp to about 208F because of the slight offset and grinding finer than dark/medium beans. Easy to wipe clean with it's smooth metal surface. I would say it's a little quieter than my old stilosa but not as quiet as the bambino, but noise has never been an issue for me for espresso machines. It's definitely bigger than my older stilosa and bambino but still fits on my counter with ample room above it. I just have to pull the machine forward to remove the water reservoir and refill it which is pretty standard for most espresso machines

Works would recommend
Alright after troubleshooting back and forth here is what I have to say. I would recommend this product it is pro grade internals and easily serviceable way prices under competitive names in the industry 5 star would recommend. I’m about 30-40 shots in on this machine and got her dialed in just perfect now. Pros: Machine is a tank solid stainless panels and easily serviceable parts this is made to be repaired and heavy duty easily on par or better than the 1-2k machines This machine does not use a boiler and holds temp with a PID and a way to actually adjust the pressure if needed. Very high throughput and has pre soak and dry puck when done On screen pid easy buttons manual button and steamer are all very fast. Can pull shots rapidly. It is a pro super device Internals are all sourced parts and readily available online which is a plus when ordering new fix parts Customer service is all emails and will reply which is good Cons: The handle is tough to lock in and top gets really hot due to this not being a boiler unit. Don’t touch it and you kind of have to wrestle it shut Inserts are not the best and will only work with a very very fine grind almost dust. This is more so than most espresso grinds so you must have a pro level grinder personally I found this to be a great little machine if you want Italian style to americanos. Only thing I knocked it was to the customer service could have said make your grind finer ( part of my initial trouble not getting pressure) must be fine grind like butterfly dust fine. Customer service is over seas so there is some time delay but they are quick. Handle for steam is well built but makes it a little too tall to fit under my standard height cabinet. But she is a looker and eco mode rocks You can make a high temp long presoak with less of a grind and make a standard cup of Starbucks Burt flavor too if that is the thing.

Very light but a good value
UPDATE: So after a week with it its going back. The warm up in the morning just takes far too long. And by the time it has warmed up it seems to switch back to ECO mode. The time to cool down after foaming is also an issue. I really wanted to like this machine as it seems to have a lot of features, but in the end there are just too many drawback IMO. Overall pretty happy with this. My Impresa C-5 is dying after about 12 years and I really did not want to spend 1000+ on a replacement. Yeah it pays for itself over time, but the super automatics just have too much that can go wrong with them and they don't make them all that well anymore. The coffee from a super automatic is decent but not great IMO. After looking at a bunch of options I decided to go with this as it had a 15-bar pump and some nice options for a $400 machine. The only issue I have with it is its very light which makes it hard to load the porta filter without touching the heating element. That is a bit of a drawback IMO. And the heating element gets really hot :( I'll try it for a few more days - in the end I may have to return it - its just too light. The frothing wand is very strong, but the time to heat up and cool off is a bit long IMO. One other thing - you will need to get a really good coffee grinder for this to work well. Even at its finest setting my current grinder will not hit 9 bars of pressure, so I am not getting a perfect shot of espresso. It's good but not as good as it can be. So plan to spend at least 100 to 200 on a grinder.

LOVE it! Enjoy every single cup of JOY
I wanted the coffee machine to look nice and proportionate with my kitchen. After searching quite a few Espresso maker, I decided to go with Gemilai Owl. And it’s the perfect match! The style, the size, the quality. I was very surprised how well it works. The setup process was pretty simple and easy! I quickly learned how to use and started using it immediately. I have used it almost 2 months, and very happy with every single cup of joy. Its oversized brew head control the temperature excellent during the brewing cycle. It maintains a consistent heat throughout, which is crucial for extracting the best flavors from the coffee grounds. And I just LOVE the look of the side steam handle, is about as fancy as it gets. The most enjoyable part of making coffee is the steaming process! The steam wand is fast and surprisingly powerful for such a tiny machine!Upgraded steam wand quickly turns milk into silky smooth microfoam! And it is very easy to clean with removable parts. I am very happy with the results. Worth every dollar!
