RYA Personal Logbook

The log book arrived on time, looks well made. Well pleased with my purchase.

This book is huge (almost A4 size) and is intended more for those who have already completed their RYA courses/are commercial sailors. I did a Competent Crew course alongside people doing the Day Skipper course and nobody had this book, they all had the "Yachmaster Scheme Syllabus & Logbook" - buy this one instead. The Yachtmaster book includes sections for your instructor to sign off you having completed (whether it's Competent Crew, Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper, etc) - this "RYA Personal Logbook" doesn't include such pages and is simply just a log of your voyages. Otherwise it's a high quality book and looks great (hence 5 stars). I'll be keeping it in case I need it in the future once I've completed all my courses.

It is what it says, sure the summarys at the back are a bit volumous, anyway I have it now, time to start filling it up.

This book is all you need to log your sea miles. Information is split into useful categories and there are some handy tables to help give you an idea of distance covered at a set speed and time. You save about £10 if you have Amazon Prime so grab it from here if you want a bargain!

It looks smart, fit for purpose

Charming book, robust and with plenty of space to record your adventures. Helpful sections to add up your total nautical miles and to record the type of boats. Good value for money.

You can't fault the quality of this log book for the price, however I was buying it as I needed one for a day skipper course. This is the wrong book for that course as well as the competent crew course, start yachting course, start motor cruising etc; in fact any of the RYA courses. If you are doing these courses you need the RYA Yachtmaster Scheme Syllabus and Logbook (RYA Order Code G158/19). Don't be put off by the name of the book - it's not just for yacht masters! However the RYA book only has space for logging 54 cruises, and it is paper back, so may get tired sat in a damp kit bag. So I won't be sending this more robust log book back - I'll keep both. Hope that is helpful.

This is a RYA book, this is what they make and do for their course. It is a nice hard cover book, good quality. Maybe a little expensive and you could possibly get something cheaper if you search more.

Sehr schönes Logbuch, alle wesentlichen Infos, sehr übersichtlich, sehr elegante Ausführung mit Ledereinband, alles eben very British!

Le logbook correspond à ce que je désire pour préparer mon Yachtmaster. Il est intelligemment conçu et permet de gérer ses nav, même avec différents voiliers. Il s'agit bien d'un logbook personnel et non attaché à un bateau, même s'il peut naturellement servir de livre de bord. Je trouve le concept très intéressant. C'est à l'image de tout ce que fait la RYA. Vraiment bien pensé. En revanche, la couverture est abîmée. Sur ce coup, je suis mécontent d'Amazon. Je trouve que les envois sont de plus en plus problématiques et que les articles ne sont pas correctement protégés. Je pense même que le logbook était déjà abimé avant même d'être envoyé. Je regrette donc d'avoir fait mon achat sur Amazon.
