More compact than it's competitors
compact size (35x35x15mm) that slips behind switches, ideal for retrofitting. Its tiny size doesn’t sacrifice power, supporting up to 10A loads for lights or fans.SmartThings Integration: As a Zigbee 3.0 device, it pairs directly with SmartThings hubs—no firmware hacks. Open the SmartThings app, scan for devices, and it’s detected instantly. Reliable for automations (schedules, voice commands via Alexa/Google).Installation: Effortless for DIYers. Wire live/load/neutral into clearly labeled terminals (neutral required). Fits standard boxes, even in tight spaces. No need for a bulky hub—connects via Zigbee to SmartThings.Pros:Tiny, invisible install.Direct SmartThings pairing.Affordable Zigbee option.Responsive app controls.beware that requires neutral wire

Great small relay, needs a bridge for all features
The Sonoff ZBMINIR2 is a fantastic hidden relay designed to convert your existing “dumb” light switches into smart ones. It’s compact enough to tuck behind a light switch, making it a seamless solution for upgrading without changing your fixtures. However, like many smart devices, it does have a caveat—you’ll need Sonoff’s own hub or bridge to unlock its full feature set. While that’s a slight drawback, the overall functionality makes it worth considering.I used two of these relays to tackle a tricky two-way switch circuit. I have a light in the loft controlled by switches at the bottom of the stairs and in the hallway, but there was no switch at the top of the stairs. Here’s how I solved it:1. I installed one ZBMINIR2 on the “pole” side of the two-way switch circuit downstairs.2. I wired another upstairs where there was an unused light switch (previously wired for outlets that had since been converted).Using the upstairs switch, I configured a “scene” to command the relay downstairs. This setup now controls the loft light without the need to run additional wiring upstairs. Even better, the upstairs switch doesn’t need to be directly connected to a load—it works perfectly with the relay via the scene setup.Initially, I tried to achieve this with the Sonoff ZBMINIL2, but since it requires a load wire to function, I would’ve needed to add a resistor between the neutral and load terminals. This workaround wasn’t ideal, as it would waste power and generate heat whenever the switch was on. Switching to the ZBMINIR2 resolved the issue entirely and allowed for a cleaner, more energy-efficient solution. In summary, the ZBMINIR2 is a reliable and versatile relay for upgrading your switches to smart functionality without major rewiring. Just keep in mind the need for Sonoff’s hub for full compatibility. It’s a great little device for creative problem-solving in home automation.

Reliable Smart Light Switch for Zigbee Home Automation
The SONOFF ZigBee Smart Light Switch (ZBMINIR2) is a great option for adding smart control to your home lighting. I installed it as part of my Zigbee home automation setup, and it integrates smoothly with Alexa and Google Home.Setup was straightforward, though a neutral wire is required, so make sure your wiring supports it before purchasing. Once wired, pairing with the SONOFF Zigbee Hub was quick, and the switch responded instantly in the app. The compact design makes it easy to fit into most electrical boxes. One of the standout features is voice control compatibility. I can turn my lights on and off using Alexa without needing to reach for a switch. Automations work flawlessly, whether it’s scheduling lights or syncing with other Zigbee devices. One minor downside is that a separate Zigbee hub is required, which adds an extra step if you don’t already have one. But if you’re already using Zigbee devices, this switch fits right in.And here’s a quick joke: Why did the smart switch ace the test? Because it always had the right connections!Overall, the SONOFF ZigBee Smart Light Switch is a reliable and efficient way to add smart control to your home lighting. It’s easy to install, responsive, and works well with popular smart home systems. A great addition for Zigbee users!

Worked Prrfectly
Used this in a Smartthings configuration for a staircase light with no neutral in the two switch boxes. Mounted the relay in the light fixture. The relay and switches even work manually when Smartthings is offline.Easily connected to Smartthings as a zigbee switch.

Does not work with Hubitat
This is specific to Hubitat users. Once this device was installed my zigbee radio dropped offline approximately every 15 minutes until the radio would stay offline and a reboot was required. My zigbee radio was stable before installing this device and is stable again after the device was removed. For reference I am using a C-7 hub on platform version2.4.1.167 and tried the generic driver as well as the tuya zigbee switch user created driver. Hope this saves others some issues.
