Yeah, nah…
Not bad, but some of the examples seem very contrived or do not even include the slang term. Useful though to attempt to understand my Australian nephews and niece!

This goes beyond G’Day maaaaate!
I read this book, which is not just a dictionary but a window into the Australian soul, as a sentimental reminder of my hard but unforgettable early years Down Under.Having migrated here 17 years ago from a non-English speaking country, I’ve initially used some Aussie idioms as a social lubricant and conversational starter when among Aussies. It almost always worked well, but there were awkward moments too, e.g. when saying to a stranger at a dinner to “have a Captain Cook” at the menu (as in “have a look”), which rubbed her the wrong way…But hey, she was just a cranky Banana Bender tucking into her smashed avo :O
