I’m not a rap fan. It’s just not the music that speaks to my soul.This album, however, is absolutely an essential part of my record collection. It is the quintessential document of a young man writing about his daily life in the inner city. It’s one of those albums you need to sit down and focus on and listen to from start to finish. It’s in the library of congress for a reason.
