Works great for what I am using it for! Easy assembly (don't count on instruction with item) if you watch a few videos. I find the thumper works best if set off to the side. Pot is light weight so I put a baking pan between the pot and the heat just so maybe it helps the life of the pot before it starts to get any holes in it. I plan to upgrade the thermometer just because it seems to stick around 190. I may find out it is fine. If so I just have an extra. If you plan on using this a lot you will eventually need to invest in more thread tape and possibly the rubber seals. All in all worth the money for a beginner. Highly recommend.

(EDIT)- the outflow is too slow and really restricts the cooling of the coil. The outflow diameter needs increased to 1/2" with a properly sized bulkhead. If you are super handy, I highly recommend replacing the cooling pot altogether with a larger one, and setting it in a stand next to the boiler, with the outflow hole and the input holes at 3/4", and using an attachment on your kitchen sink to juzt slowly run the cold water through it straight from your sink. You could even let it drain into a large container to make more ice, water plants, wash stuff witb to avoid waste. Still feels like a great value for the price, just a little flawed-bought this for emergency water purification, and for my CPAP machine, in case of grid failure. we have emergency propane to last for a few months and a good stove. (I do have stuff to remineralize the water if we need it for consumption. I have salts, calcium, magnesium and know how much to use)the still came faster than I expected, is sturdier than I expected (especially for the price), and was packaged really well. while I don't need any of the brewing stuff, it all seems straight forward and if someone were using this to get started with such practices and was on the tightest of budgets, I can see how it could be useful.as for water, the setup took minutes and I'm pretty good to go whenever I need it. put it back in the box, and it's on the shelf with the rest of my emergency supplies.very please with the practicality and price

It works for its intended purpose. We did have to replace the tubing it came with with copper as the tubing started leaking. Works fantastic with the copper tubing

First run no leaks and everything works great. I like that there are valves for the water inlet and return so you can adjust because the pump works faster than the return so I dialed the inlet down a little bit. So far I really like it

Perfect starter set up

First of all who in the right mind wants to put the condenser on top of the hot pot? why not provide a longer pipe and let it sit away from the heat, your are waiting lots of water and your product because the water gets hot on top of the pot thus you need more water, not able to cool the steam thus wasting liquor (steaming away before your eye).Second one of the latch came missing. Someone should have checked before packaging.Other wise pot is big, sturdy BUT because of the missing latch, I'll be sending it back for an exchange.

Great for a beginner does the job

Honestly, I'm amazed. I would have spent considerably more to make the same thing. Very worth the cost.
