Norpro Stainless Steel Grater, Silver

Great box grater. It has four sides, fine, medium, coarse, and a slicer, so it handles just about anything. The blades are really sharp, which makes the grating really easy. It feels solid and well-made. I’ve been doing a mix of dishwashing and handwashing and so far it’s doing great with no rusting. I do wish the base had a little bit of rubber to prevent slipping, but I do enjoy the all stainless steel look (which helps in easier cleaning). It’s not huge and fits in my drawer and over most bowls without wobbling. Overall, it’s doing a great job, and at a great price point.

Was looking for one with no plastic on it. Doesn't clean great in a dishwasher, would recommend rinsing any leftover food out first. Really sharp and easy to store!

This is an excellent slicer for making cucumber salad since it has 3 slicing slots. The slices don't look as good as those made with a mandolin slicer, but the job gets done faster, the slices fall inside so there is no need to watch where they fall and cleaning is just a simple rinse.

I needed an simple SS grater and this fit the bill. At 8 bucks, I figured I had very little to lose. For the most part, I think it is a good product. It is relatively solid, it performs the functions to shred to a variety of different sizes, the portions that actually do the cutting came very sharp, the Grater holds up to occasional dishwasher usage, and the steel used does a pretty good job at resisting rust. It is also comfortable to use and the handle is pretty well designed. On the flip side, this is a product that really should be hand-washed (as noted). The stainless steel used does a pretty good job at resisting rust, but it will rust if not cared for and some dishwashers can really push steel in this department. Like knives, it should be washed shortly or immediately after usage, and preferably dried immediately after washing (which isn't all that big of a deal). Additionally, the steel itself must not be super hard because over time, my grater has lost a lot of its sharpness on the larger size I use the most, and it now requires more effort to grate items that are not super soft (it still grates things like cheese super easily and effectively). This part is my biggest letdown with the Grater. If I could do it over again, I would probably buy a slightly higher-end unit in a somewhat harder steel. While mine is still usable, it's probably going to need replacement within a year or two at the rate it's going (the last one I had was older than me). Still, I think it overall is a really good product and like most of what NorPro offers, exceptional values given the quality is generally very good and the price is fantastic.

I got tired of replacing graters after the plastic handles broke. A little searching turned up this Norpro, and I am very happy with it. Nice and sharp, sturdy, does the job, goes in the dishwasher. If it's possible to love a box grater, then I love this one.

I like this cheese grater. It's very simple and it works. We cook a lot and this probably gets used every day or so. It replaced a no-name cheese grater I got that had a black plastic handle (Walmart Special?). The cheap plastic on the handles of the previous one started to get brittle and wear out and melt in the dish washer. Then, one of the plastic handle pieces fell off, leaving a nasty, partially-melted handle behind. This one does not have that problem. This one is simple. All metal. It works. And the price was pretty good. Compare this one to the many similar models and you'll see it's a good deal.

I was pleased to find a box grater easier than I did my last one -- in fact I didn't find it, my mother-in-law (jn another state) did and gave it to me . This is a good grater! It is lighter and less sturdier than my old-timey ones that finally broke (the one I had for decades and then the one my mother-in-law got me), but it gets the job done! I am pleased I could find this versatile box grater. My 6 yr old great-niece can hold this one easier and asked her Mom (my niece) that they need to get one for their house too!
