Brought an old box fan back to life.
This replaced the worn out ceramic and bakelite Ohmite control in a 1950's? vintage fan. Had to remove the faceplate but otherwise it was pretty straightforward replacement. Not as cool looking as the original but it works just fine. Besides, I could never find a new fan as quiet, powerful, and solidly built as this one. Hopefully it's good for another 50 or 60 years.

Works Great
Just what my blower needed. Wide speed range with smooth adjustment.

Good overall
The switches and knob seem good and work well. the face plate is flimsy at best. Unless your unit is mounted perfectly, the plate flexes and pulls away from the wall as the mounting screws are tightened. I am going to get two regular face plates to use on mine and it should work out well. The switch can be adjusted on the low end, but not the high end, where I needed it. This was a little disappointing. Overall though the switch works well.

Replaced old switch without any problems
I installed a whole house fan about 40 years ago and it worked well until the switch stopped working. This switch was a perfect match for the old one and the fan is back on the job. Fairly easy to replace even though I was working in a small space.

Worked well for 3 weeks, then didn't. Look elsewhere
Installation and setup were easy and as expected. I set the low-speed limit to match fan air movement. It worked well to adjust fan speed, but after only 3 weeks the speed adjustment quit and now it's only high-speed not matter the dial position. I spent significantly more than other options to get what I believed would be longer life. I generally believe you get what you pay for. In this case that's WRONG. Look elsewhere guys.

Fantech WC-15 gets speed control right!
I first purchased a Lutron TGFSQ-FH-WH, to use with a FanTech vent fan. I liked the conventional switch look of the Lutron. But the Lutron only worked in high speed. Its medium and slow set points were too low for the vent fan, so it wouldn't even turn. The great thing about the Fantech WC 15 speed control is that it is not only variable, but you can adjust the low speed set point. So you can use the full range of speeds available in the vent fan. To do that, rotate the knob from OFF to full on, and the fan will spin at maximum RPM. Then rotate the knob full clockwise to the low position, and adjust a small set screw to set the low speed point at which the fan just starts to turn (or whatever low speed you want). Very simple and full-proof. The adjustment hole is visible in the product picture. It is the hole (black dot) at about 1 o'clock just above the knob.

High end loss
Meh.... On the High setting, the fan is not running at top speed. Humming is inaudible. I run a 600 CFM inline duct fan to exhaust cigar smoke from a room. Often, it's overkill so I bought this switch to control speed and thus noise. The top end is not where it used to be. Motor is a 1 amp. I'd suggest something else.
