LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS PORCUPINE BRUSH!!
Love porcupine brushes! Have been using them for 15+ years. I have long, fine hair but have a lot of hair, as well.I am 58 yrs old. I can assure you, I've tried ALL the types of brushes on the market, but none have matched the quality of how they've brushed through my hair, the decrease of split ends, the scalp stimulation, as well as the quality condition that my hair has been left with after using quality porcupine brushes....And, yes, after all the years using porcupine brushes, I do consider myself somewhat a porcupine brush "coneseuer." I will literally seek out to find a porcupine brush with this exact type of firmness as this brush. There's a good reason for this.Yes, (at first use), some porcupine brushes will be firmer than others. Honestly, I can't stand the softer porcupine brushes. They don't brush through hair nearly as well & they don't last.... This brush has IDEAL firmness. You see, ALL porcupine brushes will soften over time. So, if you're like me & you don't want to have to buy a new brush every year, this brush is PERFECT.... And, yes, porcupine brushes also work very well on your cats & dogs hair. They, too, love the feel of quality porcupine brushes. ; )

Great brush!
This brush is just what I was looking for. After one day, it was soft, but still went through my hair. I don’t ever want to be without it!

Good brush for the Kitties
So for a $3/$4 brush this is a good deal. I actually purchased this brush for my cat. I really don't like the "pet brushes" that are on the market. Particularly the ones for cats. My poor cat runs if I use one of those brushes on her. Then one day (years ago) I used an old bristle brush of mine that I wasn't using anymore. She purred and purred and didn't run. So, it gave me the idea to start using bristle brushes on her. I get a lot more fur off of her too. I had to purchase this one because the husband lost her brush. Once I opened the package and ran my nails on the bristles - she came running (she knows the sound). Now - the plastic white porcupine nubs stick out quite a bit. I am thinking of cutting them down to the bristles length. I don't really see a major ball at the end of them so I think it will work. I like having the dual bristles because it gives her a good scratch while brushing her. Her fur is so nice and soft after a brushing. So, this is a brush I will definitely purchase again if we lose this one.

Best Brush Ever for "100 Strokes" Brushing at Night
love this brush! I have super fine straight hair and this brush is great for brushing from the scalp down to the ends to stimulate movement of hair oils and keeping the hair healthy. I do not use this as a styling brush, this is my nightly "100 strokes before bed" brush. Yes, that old adage is true. Stop using so much shampoo and start really taking care of the health of your hair right now.... =)The bristly type brushes aren't as good for actual styling because they can actually make your hair tangle somewhat at times. That's why I say it's great for at night. When I'm not brushing in a hurry, but taking my time, it's wonderful.I still prefer to use a regular brush with the plastic bristles with ball tips for styling in the daytime.

TOO SHARP TO THE SCALP
Have to comb lightly as it is very sharp to the scalp. Will keep it nevertheless

Best purchase ever
I cannot stress enough how much stress this has saved me! My girl has thick hair and a sensitive scalp and fights me every time we have to brush. Except with this brush. Because of the magical way they designed this brush it gets the dumb knots out without pulling. Don’t ask me I don’t know how or why it works (I assumed someone sold their soul) but I love it!

Love that hurt shit. (Really it's okay.)
It's a mean brush it hurts but I like that. The ends are porcupine I guess to which I failed in understanding. Focused on the boar and the price.TLDR; The white isn't soft and nubby. But I like this brush.

Works fine as far as distributing scalp oils goes
Works fine as far as distributing scalp oils goes. Definitely need to brush your hair with another brush before and after using if you have long hair. Also it makes the back of my neck itchy and i feel like it doesn't work as well after you wash it. But overall based on the price it's good.

AWFUL BRUSH.
Wow.... I hate this brush so much. I wasn't expecting a Mason Pearson, but WOW this is truly awful. I threw it into the trash a week after buying it. The boar bristles fall out, the plastic bristles claw the skin off your scalp, and it get SO dirty! The boar bristles after the first day were all bent out of shape and has dust embedded all throughout. Impossible to keep clean, hurts to use, and it didn't even brush through my hair. I had to grab my hair and force it into the bristles to detangle my hair. AWFUL.
