I am very impressed with this delightful children's book about responsible pet ownership. It introduces children to the basics of dog care in a simple, engaging way, emphasizing the importance of kindness, responsibility and respect for animals. What I particularly love is how it teaches children not just how to care for a dog but why these actions are important to an animal's well-being. The illustrations are also both fun and informative. One of the standout features of this book is that it includes real-life dogs from Tennessee animal shelters. This adds an extra layer of emotional depth, helping children understand that many dogs are waiting for loving homes. I also enjoyed the discussion questions and answers at the end of the book. These questions spark meaningful conversations between parents and children, helping to reinforce the lessons about dog care and responsibility. Doggie Do's and Don'ts is an excellent book for starting discussions about empathy, compassion and the lifelong commitment of pet ownership. Loved it! Very well done and clear for kids to understand! I think it will make a great impact in teaching children how to properly care for a dog and it has discussion questions at the back for teachers, kids, and parents. Not just for kids, A 50 year old friend read it and said they learned something new as well!!

Absolutely love this book! What a great way for children to enjoy reading, while learning about dogs at the same time! The content is beautifully written and the illustrations really capture the emotion and intelligence of the characters for the reader to relate to. Highly recommend!!

What a fun book about animal welfare! This book is light and easy to read yet there’s a lot packed inside. There are discussion questions with answers at the end of the book that are perfect for educators! Cadence makes this book fun and she delivers important messages in a non-judgmental way. All kids would benefit from reading this book!

A quick and easy read that delivers a GREAT message for any child who has, or will get getting a dog. Even as an adult I must admit this book gave me things to think about as well, and having "Cadence" and other dogs delivering a serious message without making it sound like a lecture is a powerful way to introduce children to the responsibility of having a pet. I gave the book five stars, and the dogs featured in the stories coming from shelters and rescues in TN makes me wish I could give many more!!!! The perfect book for families and classrooms, and one that does a great job of promoting animal welfare

Doggie Do’s and Don’ts is very informative while, at the same time, it’s lots of fun! It’s written at a level that’s fun and easily understood by children. I highly recommend this as a gift. I’m planning to purchase several copies to donate to the children’s section of local libraries. It’s THAT good! Looking forward to future books from this talented author!
