It’s the sort of thing that would make a great secret Santa gift.You need to unscrew the wooden top and then remove the plastic plug from the bottle (much like you would on a diffuser) you then screw the wooden top back on and tip the bottle upside down for 2 or 3 seconds. The oil then soaks into the wooden top and the aroma is then released.The box says the scent is sandalwood. I do get a hint of that, but it smells like an expensive shower gel to me. Edging towards a masculine aroma. The scent is strong but not overpowering.You need to tip the bottle upside down to re-soak the wooden top when the smell starts to fade. Apparently this air freshener can last up to 45 days.Pulling the bead on the cord to the end allows you to fit it over a rear view mirror easily. Push the bead back down (and tie the cord in a knot) and it will sit comfortably underneath the mirror without it swinging around. Alternatively, it comes with a car vent clip that goes over the neck of the bottle and is secured by screwing the lid on.It’s unobtrusive, stylish and practical.It’s not cheap but I think it’s worth the price and will hopefully last a good while. Following the instructions I removed the stopper then tipped the bottle up to soak the lid, at this point the smell wasn't too strong so I placed the bottle in the car. By the time I'd driven to the local supermarket the smell had become much stronger, I guess due to the bottle shaking around. Coming back to the car after doing my shopping a wave of overpowering sickly scent hit me as I opened the door. It was way too much and at this point I knew it had to go. Removing the product from the car somehow resulted in getting the scent all over my hand, it's really strong and impossible to wash off too. The only positive I can give this product is for presentation, it does look nice and comes in a good looking box too. That is where the good points end.
