Check the stiching! Poor quality control.
I am writing a quick review which I will update as I get replies from parties involved.Recovering distance runner 46 yrs of age. Lungs can’t handle cold air like I used to (Vermont cold that is). Balaclava and a separate visor work really well down in sunny 20Fs. I like the multi layer small face design of the Black Strap Exp. and the bright green option for running is always a selling point.Received as ordered. Strong chemical odor as soon as I opened bag. Really bad packaging design in that large head shape cardboard insert is attached so you can’t try it on. Which means it can’t be returned unused.Removed from packaging and tried it on. Over powering chemical odor. It runs small like around 7 hat size (I have smaller head so…). Fabic is comfortable. Not real big on the solid rubber BS patch. Fabric over face is OK. Easy to tuck under chin, kinda breathable, not real good fit cheek bone eyes nose area definitely going fog glasses or goggles. As a COVID face mask, outdoor use with social distancing only.Ran it through wash with similar compression clothes. Unscented detergent and white vinegar knocked the chemical smell down by 75%, roughly. Tumble dry low to remove some moisture and when I turned inside out to air dry I noticed multiple loose stitches/ seams. Like Christian wrote my mask has a bunch loose in the jaw hinge area. No overstiching or backtracking. Just lazy skip the finish stiching. And a small bit of loose stitching in hem area.I am not impressed, the quickest glance is going to show the loose stitches.I could try fabric glue, I could return and try my luck with another (life long quilting mother says return) but I really need now, or I could take photos contact parties involved about an obvious manufacturing issue and see what happens (kinda did this). There is a 1 year limited warrenty but Black Strap requires you send it to original seller (sold by Cultivate Company and fulfilled by Amazon) which is who in this case?I like the idea of buying American made, but paying top dollar for lazy work should not be acceptable in any country. I will update as needed.

I typically don’t leave reviews but wow
I went through about 4 different ski balaclavas. I’ve had everything from the ones they sell at ski stores who ordering Smartwool to Buff and this is the best one by far. It’s comfortable, breathable and it stays on snug (the smartwool one I had stretched out I had a huge nose gap. 10/10 would recommend, this is the best ski balaclava.

Warm, comfortable, and fits perfect, but had to get rid of that logo!
For those of you that hate having that giant “bs” badge on an otherwise wonderful product, it can be removed easily!I took a razor blade and sliced open each of the stitches on the face of the badge, and the stitches pulled right out. As soon as they were all cut, the badge pulled right off.BlackStrap… please come up with a less in-your-face logo on your products.

Great way to protect yourself while snowmobiling and skiing in harsh conditions.
I never thought I'd ever wear a balaclava but these winter storms out west hammered one week. For my next trip out there I bought this balaclava and now I won't ever prioritize a light neck gaiter again in cold windy and snowy conditions again. Windproof. Warm. Perfect purchase.
