Great mid-range mini-pc for a low price - Inside the pc images included
TL;DR: Solid mini PC for casual use like web browsing, media, and light gaming — but I recommend buying a higher-end model rather than upgrading this one later.I purchased the ACEMAGICIAN Matrix M1 Mini PC with a Ryzen 7 6800H (8 cores, 16 threads, up to 4.7GHz), 16GB DDR5 RAM, and a 512GB NVMe SSD. It also comes with integrated Radeon 680M graphics, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and Windows 11 Pro preinstalled. Out of the box, it ran well for everyday tasks — streaming movies, browsing with multiple tabs open, and using cloud gaming services like Amazon Luna (which looked great at 720p resolution). It’s also completely silent in normal use, and doesn’t get noticeably hot. However, I decided to upgrade it. The included RAM was a single stick of generic-brand 16GB DDR5, so I replaced it with a dual-channel 2x16GB kit from TeamGroup to boost graphics performance. I also swapped the 512GB SSD with a faster 2TB TeamGroup NVMe. While the upgrades were worth it for performance, I probably spent an unnecessary extra $200 — and reassembling the unit was frustrating. The power button is not secured to the chassis and fell out when opening it, and the internal WiFi antenna is hard to position properly when closing the case. There’s no second M.2 slot for storage — the only other slot is taken by the WiFi card.I also wiped the factory Windows install (just to be safe) and installed my own clean Windows 11 Pro. Then I set it up as a dual-boot system with CachyOS (an Arch-based Linux distro), which ran great with full support for WiFi, Bluetooth, and hardware acceleration right out of the box.Overall, I’m happy with the machine for now — it’s fast, quiet, and energy efficient. But if I were buying again, I’d skip the base model and go for a Ryzen 9 version with more RAM and storage pre-installed. This one is great for office work, media playback, and cloud gaming — just don’t expect it to run AAA games well without upgrades. My advice: If you have $500 to spend up front, buy the ACEMAGICIAN S3A that already has a Ryzen 9 and 1TB SSD. Then wait a year or so before you do anymore upgrades. This Matrix M1 is close to being maxed out already.AceMagician please let me get the S3A for a discount! or let me borrow it for a review here.

Great Little Machine
I'm not going to get technical, you can read that in other reviews. I needed a new backup machine that would run Win 11. My primary is a Lenovo Aurora X1 Carbon Gen 13. I am now using the X1 for travel and backup and the W1 for my primary which should say a lot. I found support to be excellent. I had no problems with the hardware but Win 11 pro (I HATE it) was another story. Support was a big help. Set up was a snap and there was not the usual hassle to set it up with a local account and no MS account. I read there was bloatware but I haven't found any yet. I have an older Intel NUC10 that can run win 11 but this W1 seems to blow it away at one third of what the NUC10 cost 3 years ago. I paid $50.00 more that the current price as of this writing but I still feel I got more than my monies worth.

HTPC / KODI / etc -- no HDMI_CEC :(
* Very basic BIOS config options, no way to disable BT or WLAN* Boots fast, PXE works great too* No integrated HDMI-CEC but thats pretty typical of x86 based mini's* Quiet

Reliable and fast PC.
Very fast computer that gave me my desk back. I know Ace Magic makes reliable computers because I bought an Ace Magician N95 mini PC three years ago that has been running continuously 24/7 with no problems to run my Blue Iris security camera server. This new Ace Magic Ryzen 7 6800H CPU runs 8% faster than the I7 processor desktop that it is replacing. And the DDR5 memory is significantly faster the DDR4 it is replacing. Integrated graphics processors have come a long way in three years running 167% faster than my old GPU. This new Ace Magician is a terrific buy.

Nice pricepoint to get into a speedy mini PC with great connectivity
This is an impressive little machine! Having 6 USB port appealed to me. I also use 3 monitors, so this "M1" configuration was just right. The unit booted and worked well on arrival. As precaution I did a clean install of Win11Pro (my habit to do this). To fully complete the fresh install I needed to reach out to Ace Magic to get the zip file with the drivers for this machine, which they quickly provided (the M1 driver file is not on the web site at the time of this review, but the ones for the "AM06" did get me 90% of the way there. This is my first mini PC (NUC form factor). The computer is zippy compared to the HP Z620 workstation it replaced. A full stress test using CPU-X and montoring with HWInfo64 had the CPU temp did not rise above 85C (in a 25C room). This sounds hot, but is perfectly fine. The CPU did not have to throttle to maintain this temperature. Normal (for me) operation is about 72C. The CPU was back down below 75C in 60 seconds after turning off the stress test.I am a ham radio operator and have lots of USB devices to control with some CPU intensive software. For other operators information N1MM+ will start fully in 18 seconds including two spectrum windows. All 7 apps in DXLabs will be open and running in 1 minute 3 seconds. For reference I am reviewing the 6 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB-C 3.2G2, HDMI, DP, 2.5G Ethernet, WiFi 6, BT5.2, 32G DDR5, 1TB SSD model.

Don't buy this!
I purchased this unit late March, and was super-impressed with the fast boot-up, processing, etc. But suddenly this morning, just 3 months later, it wouldn't turn on. I tried all the non-invasive checks I could do (plug/unplug, different socket, check cable, etc) but it would not turn on, nor could I tell whether the problem was with the power source, or the computer. Called AceMagic, and they said I had to pay a local technician to do complete diagnostics/checkup, etc on the machine, then they would decide what to do. They would not tell me if it was still on warranty, or what the options were. So right now, I have a very light, silver, paperweight.

Works Well - Good Customer Support
Everything appears to be working well. Still in the process of setting up the computer so haven't run any tasks on the machine yet. Questions posed to the tech support have been resolved in a timely manner. Very helpful. Note that the user manual is minimal, and any questions other than very basic ones will likely require a response from tech support.
