Q: Can the wire be hooked up to the system remote wire?

I have mine hooked up to the switched wire coming from factory, But i heard its better to just connect it to Constant (+)(red wire)

Q: what is the blue wire for?

Connect it to an auxiliary power wire. I hadn't done that, and all I got were a few AM stations. Once I connected the blue wire to a red accessory wire behind my radio, all was well. Do it before you finish installation, and save yourself lots of time!

The wire labeled ANTENNA that comes off the back of the stereo. Not every unit will use this wire.
