Soft Glow Silent Timer & Color Changing Light for Baby Kids and Teachers, at Home Night Light or Timed Classroom Activities, Portable and Rechargeable

I am an adult with ADHD. Even if I didn't, I feel this timer could be very helpful for others either learning or maintaining time managment. My husband works from home and I'm taking some online courses when I can. I also have chronic migraine. This factors in because I can't have too much screen time at a time or sometimes per day or I will pay for it later. I'm also high-strung, so alarms can jolt me and make me anxious. This is why this timer is so perfect and helpful. I can set it for 30 mins, start the video class and focus on the class, listen, take notes (with my active sound cancellation headphones on - remeber, husband is working from home) and when the light goes off. I stop. Set timer for 15/20 mins on non-eye-strain stuff. Then back to a 30 min block of learning. It doesn't show a countdown so I don't end up getting distracted by checking how much time is left. Since it's silent, no jolt for me and no chance of a loud noise interrupting a meeting my husband is in. I thought he would be distracted by the light, but he actually finds it soothing. And has even learned which color means how much time (e.g. purple = 30 mins) so he knows that when that light goes off, we can interact. We try to respect each other's focus times. It's rechargeable and I usually charge it about every 3 days. Recharge at night, wireless during the day. Another perk of it being rechargeable, the cord keeps it from going too far if our cat decides he must knock it to the ground at night. Which he has. Several times. And it still works fine.

I have "Time Blindness" and I lose track of time very easily. I use this all day as a quiet visual cue that time is flying by. If I notice I am in a "zone" or completely absorbed with my phone - I will quickly reach for this globe and set it for 20 min - and I will notice later when the light turns off: "Wow! 20 min have passed?!?" Good for children - but also good for adults with Focusing issues. Highly recommend getting one! DEAR SELLER: Great Product but the light could be brighter. Please let manufacturer know to upgrade the brightness and please notify me so I can purchase a 2nd one. Thank you!

The item is fine if it's what you need. I needed a silent alarm that would let me know when it was time to stand up, because I have a very sedentary job. The description says this gives a signal, but I was expecting the light to flash changing colors for a few seconds or something. All it did was turn red and immediately turn off. The red happened so fast that if I had not been watching the orb, I would not have seen it. I was watching the orb because I'd missed the signal three times, so this will not work for me. The color options are nice and the device seems to work fine if you are using it for a different purpose.

This product is very nice and visually pleasing. I bought it for work so I don't annoy my co-workers with something that beeps every 30 minutes and it definitely fufills that requirement. I only have two complaints. First that you can't reset the timer colors, so if I want a twenty minute one, I am stuck with an unappealing yellow, which isn't the end of the world but annoying. The second is that since I assume people hear sensory and think "children" the preset times are bizarre. I would much rather have a 15 and 45 minute setting than 2 and 3 minutes. Still a really good product for the price.

This timer is perfect for what I need. All the other reviews I saw exclaim how great it is for children and classrooms - it can be fun for adults too! I wanted a silent timer to use early in the morning and late at night so I wouldn't bother other people, and wouldn't disturb my own sense of peace at those hours. It has been particularly nice in the early mornings when I brush the cat - a loud timer would scare him, but he loves this one (he thinks it's a toy for him tbh). It's great for me when I want to spend 10-20 minutes reading before bed (rather than saying "just one more chapter..." and losing sleep). I like to put my phone away well before bed, so having this simple and fun alternative to a timer on my phone is great. You need to be able to see the timer for it to be effective, but I think you can find lots of delightful ways to use it. It's so cute too!

I bought this light to use as a timer. I thought I would use it to limit how long I spend on an email at work, since sometimes it take me a while to wordsmith. It's pretty cool as a little timer, but would be nice to have some kind of sound when time is up. After trying this for a while, I soon realized that what I needed was a stopwatch. Then I started experimenting with other uses for this light. As a night light, or better yet, a timed night light, this is phenomenal. Wandering around the house using the Soft Glow as the only source of light is unexpectedly cool. The light has several colors to choose from, so you can see what effect colors have on your mood or how sleepy or awake you feel. In particular the red light has interesting effects on night vision; after a few minutes in red light I can see like a cat. :) Using timing mode when this is the only source of light works great too. It's almost like a game, since you can't really tell how much time has elapsed and then Poof! the light shuts off and everything's dark. :) Great for making sure teeth get brushed in a timely fashion before going to bed. I may not be using this light as intended, but I really dig it. Sometimes I run across gadgets that seem interesting, and then I try them out and soon wonder how I got along without them. This is one of those gadgets. It's rechargeable, so there's no reason not to take it everywhere and try using it for different things. I look forward to taking it camping. :)

Bought this a year ago, used a few times. Must be poorly made because USB receptor on the orb broke and no way to open device to repair. ==> Landfill.
