I bought the ASM1166 PCIe 3.0 x1 SATA Expansion Card to expand the storage on my home server, and it’s performed flawlessly. Installation was genuinely plug-and-play on Ubuntu, detected instantly with no drivers, no BIOS tweaking, and no headaches. All six SATA ports run perfectly at full 6Gbps speeds, and I’ve had zero dropouts, disconnects, or random resets. It’s been running 24/7 with multiple hard drives connected, including during heavy read/write operations, and it’s been rock solid. Hot swap works exactly as advertised, which is a massive plus for maintenance. The LED activity lights are also very useful for quickly identifying drive activity and troubleshooting at a glance. The included six SATA cables are a great bonus and saved me extra cost. Build quality feels very solid for the price, and thermals have stayed perfectly under control even with all ports populated. Very compact, plug and play on windows 11 machine with an ASUS motherboard. Worked first time, no additional drivers required. windows recognised immediately, and attached hard drive recognised immediately. Will accept up to 6 SATA hard drives, although I cannot verify that 6 disks attached works or does not work , as I have not tried that capacity, Good value for money, with scope for expansion

I did a lot of research before i bought a SATA Expansion Card & apparently this is the fastest one out there. PROS: - The onboard controller chip (PCE6SAT-A02) is highly respected at the moment, so only by one of these with that code printed on the black PCB board .... as shown in the pictures provided. - NO FUSS Plug & Play, No Driver CD & No Drivers to download ... it just works straight out of the box 😎 - Its as Fast as my Motherboard SATA, but can be even Faster if you Update the Firmware .. but i didn't as i'm happy with the speeds i'm getting out of the box. - 6 Fast SATA Ports - Can be used in all pci express motherboard slots incl: 1x 4x 8x & 16x slots 👌 ... but, dont put it in a 1x slot as that will force the card to transfer data at its slowest speeds. - Comes with 6 SATA Cables - Also comes with an extra back plate for using in a small factor pc such as an iTX Case Build. CONS: - None If you need only an extra 2 SATA ports in your Pc, i'd still recommend this card as it just works & you wont have any annoying driver issues that other expansion cards suffer from. PS: Im using Windows 10 Professional, & i'm not sure about Windows 11 compatibility 🤔 Hope This Review Helps 😊

I Had a spare PCI-ex x4 slot on my motherboard that only had 4 SATA ports. when I Came across this device I thought That this may solve the limited SATA port problem I Had. I would say that it solved the problem with aces. I now have 4 extra SSD's On my rig and extra slots for more devices if needed. No problem with giving this item 5 Stars, Delivery was on time as well!

The card works great have 7 drives connected and throughput is good for the price.

Have this running in a home Frankenstein of a NAS running Server 2019 as a media server. Running a mix of drives from it fudged together via storage spaces for RAID. Works a treat straight out the box, it just works and presents all the drives to the OS drama free. Get decent through put from it and no drop outs as yet. SATA cables that come with it are all a decent length and not short. Would definitely recommend if you are after something cheap just to cobble a NAS together for home use.

I bought this as I require huge amounts of space for video and content, and my motherboard, like most new ones do not support enough drives. It is so easy to use and works without any issues. One thing to note, I have experienced a drive failure ans that brought the entire array down, it had me take the drive out to get thw PC to work again.

Esta tarjeta de expansión SATA III con 2 puertos SATA para conectar en zócalo PCI-Express, llegó bien protegida, con una placa extra para cajas de perfil bajo. La construcción tiene muy buena pinta. Pone que es compatible con Windows y Linux, yo la he puesto en un PC con Windows 11, no he necesitado drivers ("plug and play"), aún así trae un mini CD con los drivers necesarios. He realizado un test con el software CrystalDiskMark, que nos mide la velocidad de lectura y escritura de una unidad de disco duro. Testeado el mismo disco HDD, conectado primero a la placa base directamente, y después conectado a la tarjeta, el resultado son unas velocidades totalmente iguales. Por tanto, creo que es una buena compra, si necesitamos añadir discos a nuestro equipo y no nos quedan puertos libres.

Works just fine on linux (Fedora) without needing drivers or config. I'm running 13 HDD in a ZFS software raid without issues.

Ich habe die Karte in meinem UnRaid Server im Einsatz und dort funktioniert sie ohne Probleme. Mit konventionellen festplatten kann die volle Leistung erreicht werden, wie es mit SSDs aussieht kann ich leider nicht beurteilen.
