A fantastic book for all levels, especially those who are coming from a non-science background such as myself. The explanations are clear and the structure logical. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to get a solid grounding in Chemistry.

I purchased this for an Access to Medicine course I am on and it is really good. Explains things simply and clearly. Gives good examples and the test questions throughout each chapter really help confirm yo have understood the concepts. Highly recommended for anyone studying at AS/A2/Level 3 level.

This book's great; it's really approachable with loads of colour and pictures and relates chemistry to the real world and everyday life often. It has regular questions with the answers in the back and is split up quite nicely. However it doesn't have a "practice paper" but does have topic summaries.This book covers both the AS and A2 content for all exam boards and is written very clearly, simplifying common areas of confusion and more difficult concepts. However, when reading it, you aren't pointed out the more important points of the course so make sure you know what you need to learn before buying it. Also, it provides you with links to on-line stuff like "How science works" practice questions and information websites.This book explains many things from scratch, so you don't really need to have studied chemistry in the past to use it, and did I mention that it's colourful?!?!The only disadvantage is that it's a bit chunky; you can't exactly carry it around in your bag casually all day without getting a soar shoulder, and note that you must have a syllabus from your exam board so that you don't miss any topics!!!Recommend this, one of the best books out there and worth the price.

Really good all purpose course textbook for A levels. Recommended for WJEC exam board, and pretty much the go resource.
