Love NYPD Red
This is just really a fantastic series. Red Alert showed up as an item I might be interested in because I read a lot of crime/mystery/whodunnit books. Once I realized this was the 5th in an ongoing series, I started with the first NYPD Red and concluded with this one. I read all 5 books in about a week. Love the way that these books read like a movie. And the last couple have been really ramped up, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Zach and Kylie. The reason I like these books is that the humor/romantic elements (I’m team Zach and Cheryl) help to balance out the murderous plots. I’m also a fan of the Bosch series, but those are more gritty and hard hitting, and can leave me feeling a little heavy when I finish them. That’s why I liked the levity and action in the Red series. I don’t even worry about figuring out who did what, I just go along for the ride and let everything play out. I hope they make many more.

Keeps you guessing and always leaves you laughing.
Marshall Karp is a master at wry dialogue, twisting plots and taking you to places and people you’d only want to find in his books. I forced myself to read only 5 chapters a day so I could savor the book. In the end, I wound up devouring the last half of the book because I couldn’t bear to put it down. I challenge you to be any more restrained.Thank you, Marshall, and Mr Patterson, for another amazing, wryly witty dalliance with NYPD Red.

Loved it BUT ...
Loved the main characters and the captivating story line BUT sadly the detailed pornography and over-the-top f-bombs throughout was a cheezy addition. So distasteful and unnecessary because the story content sells itself. Alex Cross, Michael Bennett and the Women's Murder Club novels are always a success without the excess profanity and porn.

I loved all the NYPD Red series, BUT.........
I have every book of this series and have enjoyed them, but I found that Red Alert dragged in places. I do not thing it was up to the caliber of the others. I could not put the other books down once I started. In Red Alert, I had to put it down because I found it tiring. The story line was good but dragged for me.

BOMBS, MURDER, BLACKMAIL, ROBBERY !!!!!
An excellent read. Enjoyed all the NYPD series and this one was really good also. There are several murders, several different suspects. This is a detailed, fast moving story. The reasons for the murders and robbery and so much more are perfectly brought to light. I love the way the main story ended, right or wrong, it had to end that way. This would make a terrific tv movie!. Hats off to Mr Patterson and Mr Karp for yet another enjoyable read.

Another group of mysteries with great diversity.
The top cops of RED quickly find themselves juggling multiple crimes, difficult survivors, usual and unusual perpetrators. Zach & Kylie are treated to the "rich people travel style" in order to find the perpetrator of unique explosions. But how does Thailand for in. Then there are Haitians. And experts in sexual deviance add another search. So, how do they juggle and solve so many cases. Plus, Zach helped solve another crime off the books.Prepare to have time to read, this will be hard to put down.

Really good read!
Wow! Was looking forward to this book as I have enjoyed the NYPD Red series. Hate to say but I pick and choose Patterson's books anymore, but the wait for this one was well wort it. As an avid reader you can see some of the twist coming and some not so much. But either way this book was a joy to get there. I could not put it down until I was done, it was that good and held your attention from page 1 to the last page. This has definitely moved up to my #1 NYPD Red book. Thank you Patterson and Karp for a really enjoyable read.

Multiple Headaches For The Red Team
Once again James Patterson has written a fast paced, joy ride through New York's dark underbelly. Kylie & Zach of the elite NYPD RED Squad are faced with not one, but two complicated murder cases. One involving a master bomber and another a murder that has sordid sexual overtones. Lots of good characters keep the story lines intriguing and as breathless as Kylie & Zach are, as they pursue the resolution of the two investigations. Well worth reading.

Zach's Nemesis
I always love a James Patterson book and I love following NYPD red and the hoops they have to jump through keeping the posh folk safe from themselves. I am beginning to dislike Kylie intensely as she plays games with her partner. Once lovers it's almost like she is saying "I don't want you but I'm still going to push your buttons and see if I can make you tick only for me" Zach deserves better and he doesn't deserve her disrespectZach is a great cop so is kylie but her competitive nature means she is aggressive and tactless. I kind of got more wrapped up in her and Zac's tension that I'm sure I missed the background story. I re read it just to make sure I got the whole story. Can't wait for the next one. Thoroughly enjoyed it despite hating on kylie

I struggled to finish this...
I think I'm going to give up reading James Patterson's books, because the reality is, he isn't writing them, some ghost writer is. There were three different plots swirling around in this book and all three limped to a disappointing conclusion. The book was on sale when I read it so thankfully I'm only out 99 pence.

Excellent
It's been a while since I've read book 4 but once I started reading it was hard to put down. What a cracking thriller that keeps you guessing right to the end. I love this series and hope that it's not too long before number 6.
