It provides a very bright light for a tiny little fixture that it is. It doesn't require very much sunlight to function but I read that you shouldn't allow it to run completely out of juice (which would take about 6-8 hrs). I use it as a flashlight to get through dark hallways. The only complaint I have is that the clip used to attach it to books is not of high quality and I would worry that it will break long before the actual light.

Exactly what I was looking for. Charges in the window or via USB, and casts a nice crisp glow for reading in bed or seeing where my other slipper ended up on the floor. Compact and light enough to carry in a pocket when traveling, but sturdy enough to survive a drop with no signs of damage.Shipped on time and came nicely packaged and boxed.

Solar is so much better than buying batteries. Having a USB cord for charging is great; that was a surprise. This item is a little overpriced. I think $10.00 would have been more appropriate considering that it is made of plastic and not metal. At $10.00 I would have bought 2 just in case as backup. It is a bit delicate. Yet good to have.

This is the MOST AMAZING BOOK LIGHT EVER!! Okay sorry, I'm really into things that can recharge by Dollar energy, my watch for example, my calculator, I even have a solar panel to charge my phone with plus a solar powered battery pack for emergency charging.. sorry, I went on a wild tangent there, I love solar powered everything, now I know they make solar powered book lights ha! Best thing ever! Get one! Today! Right now! What are you waiting for, click the buy button, why are you still reading this and not buying the solar powered book light? Ha! They're great!

I use it to read in bed and when I am walking my dogs at night! Luv it!

just be aware this light is extremely small. I thought it could be used as a bedside lamp. it can only be clipped onto a book.

Update March 21 2022:The new items they sent I assume were not charged. I left my old item and one of the new items on my desk because my office gets pretty good light. Having no success to get these to turn on after about a week took these outside left in direct sunlight for a day. they still did not turn on. Then left those agin by the window after 2 weeks still did not turn on. Customer service is A+ but product quality is disappointing. Even A+ customer service can’t back up a non working poor quality product. I give up on these.Update March 2022: the company reached out to me and sent two replacement lights. I’m not sure if these will have the same problem but customer service is A+. So I’m updating the review to 4 stars since they are standing behind their product and willing to resolve any issues.——-Worked great for about 3 months then stopped working. Return window is now passed. Piece of trash I will throw away. So not recommend

Light, bright light with 2 settings. Long life on each charge. Love itUpdate in October 2024: this book light is still going strong. I use it on weekends mostly reading late into the night. The light has never turned off while I was reading so still seems to hold a charge perfectly. I set it in the bedroom window in the morning some direct sun but only for a few hours. Doesn't seem to matter. Still love this light 5 yrs later.
